NARATHIWAT (NNT) - As part of efforts to increase the government’s soft power projection and help stabilize the deep South, Acting Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwon presided over a meeting to consider the approval of 11 government projects in the region.

The gathering took place as part of the acting premier’s recent tour of Narathiwat province, where he was due to inspect flood-ravaged districts before meeting with the Committee on Development Strategy in the Deep South.

Gen Prawit said that with the committee’s assistance and the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center, the projects aim to improve the quality of life of all residents while greatly contributing to Thailand’s regional soft power campaign.

During the tour, the acting prime minister also visited the Princess of Naradhiwas University, where he observed an exhibition on Thai-Malaysian trade highlighting the region’s numerous cultural characteristics.

Later, Gen Prawit attended a meeting with a group of agriculturists and business representatives to discuss uneven electricity supply, particularly during droughts. During the discussion, he vowed that the issue would be addressed by related agencies as quickly as possible.
