My takeaway is that you could use your Lao eVisa without hassle. That's useful, and for this I appreciate your report.

In my original enquiry, I asked specifically if I had to go to the visa office before proceeding to the immigration desk. I was told that I did not need to go to that office but that I should go straight to the immigration booth. In fact I did need to go to the visa office and so the information WAS incorrect and, as I found out later, based on old information from pre-Covid times.
