My wife's passport expires in a few months and she currently has a 10 year UK visitor visa.

Does anyone know the process for transferring the visa to the new passport?

There’s no need to transfer her visa to the new passport, she carries both passports and presents the expired passport containing the current visa at check-in on departure and on arrival at the UK Border.

if she wishes, the visa can be transferred, it costs £154 and not necessary, I’m not sure of the procedure.

We had a similar situation when we lived in Australia around 10 years ago.

My wife renewed her passport and we were told there was no need to transfer the visa. When we tried to check in for our flight back to Oz my wife was told that she couldn't travel as she hadn't transferred the visa to the new passport. It wasn't until after a few phone calls and quite a bit of time that my wife was finally allowed to check in
