Import of personal items to Thailand

Featured Replies

Has anyone else run into issues with the deliver services offered in Thailand?  I recently had a package sent to my girls sister in Thailand and it has been so far 25 days since it arrived into Thailand customs.  The issue now is with FedEx in that they keep requesting paperwork which I have already submitted numerous times and now there seems to be an issue in that the spelling of her name is incorrect and they want to charge me 1500 baht to submit an amendment for the shippers misspelling of the recipient.

Seems a small price to pay to resolve the problem

Last time I miss spelt my wife's maiden name it cost me 2000 baht to rectify it. That was 10 years ago  and I have never misspelt it again, lesson learnt.

The missus was quite fair by the sounds of it. How much do you think she'd fine you now?

Misspelled names unfortunately are a big issue here, for several reasons. There are names different by just one letter, first or family names, problems with fake identities, etc. 1500 is a really small price to resolve your issue.
