I have a friend wants to stay near Patpong around september for 2 weeks .

He is only 24 yo with a small income.

Anyone any advice of any good tour shops or reasonably priced hotels near Patpong.

The Suriwong used to be the best deal. Rundown, but with air-con and cable TV and about a 1 minute walk away.

It used to be mostly gay, but I stayed there many times with no problems.
