Cop in a backhoe! NE cops destroy the evidence from multiple cases

Chief of the Muang Mukdahan police Pol Col Kiatphoom Sawantri presided over the destruction of guns and ammunition that were seized as evidence by the state in many cases.

 

In total there were 62 Thai made weapons most of which were cap guns of several varieties as well as air-guns. There was one shotgun.

A backhoe was used to crush the weapons behind the police station.

 

Kiatphoom said it was all above board and that a "destruction committee" had also been set up.

what about the real guns , revolvers , AK 's and the like,

there are plenty about ,this is just for show.

A backhoe is a mechanical digger on the back of a tractor.

Thats what they call them in Aus . 

People in Los call them JCB  .

JCB is just a Brand name like Case , Ford, Caterpillar

looks like a load of old pre 1st world war rubbish held together with tape to me that would probably more likely kill the user. na kid could run up and play war with. Sure the best stuff has already been 'appropriated' !

Another photo op for the police. Why everyday do we see pictures of coppers doing what they are paid to do? Sometimes.  Do reporters  hang around police stations for easy pickings?

No, I'd say nearly every house in our village has one of these 'home made' guns. 

Go for an early morning or late evening walk in the national park hills and you see many people after game. All got these type of weapons.

Yes in the picture in the OP it is an excavator as you say, but a Backhoe,or backhoe loader is known colloquially as a JCB, in the UK.
