ok guys got my daughter out here in 2 weeks . anything new about entry ..ref COVID ..IE Vax certificate and all the stuff we had to do ..or is it just arrive show passport and welcome to los  tks for any info H

Covid restrictions of any kind are history - no vax record or tests needed.

You say that she's arriving on a tourist visa, so just that, passport and return ticket should do it.

Arriving on a tourist visa an onward flight would not be required.

Either from airline at departure or immigration on arrival.

I should know better than to comment on a visa thread ????

However, at check-in a few years ago the Thai Airways girl commented that my return was after my visa term - I explained that I will be getting a 30-day extension and she was happy with that. Maybe she was just testing me?

Yes, I returned last Tues .

Had my vax info etc. Nothing required.

BTW hand over passport AND boarding pass for her flight into Thailand.

If it is an eVisa, the immigration will check the paper. Airlines may also check the visa paper.

no mate just 30 day visit

Just to be clear......

She is flying with a tourist VISA and not visa exempt entry?

There's no need for a return ticket on a tourist visa, just a one way ticket is fine.

I asked previously re if daughter actually has a tourist visa.

Some folk refer to "tourist visa" upon entry when they actually mean entering on visa waiver.

You mention 30 day visit.

Why would she bother with a tourist visa when visa exempt entry is available.

The point is if flying visa exempt she may require onward flight by airline at departure.

In that case no problem.

BTW visa exempt entry currently give a 45 day stamp.

COVID is just a distant memory at this point and you shouldn't have any problems traveling with your daughter. And while we're at it, maybe you should work on your writing skills too. Just a thought!

How rude.

Perhaps the OP is not native English speaker.

Also my reading of the OP is that his daughter is coming for a 4 week visit.

Apart from that your unhelpful reply had already been well covered.

Maybe you should work on your reading comprehension skills.

He isn't travelling, his daughter is visiting him.

Isn't there a requirement to carry x amount of Thai Baht currency even though your Credit /Debit Card is probably loaded?

There is however very rarely would that be requested and even then in a situation of repeated consecutive entries visa exempt and the immigration officer looking for reason to refuse entry.

The OP,s daughter won't have an issue.

Hi Guys,

I just want to check what you're saying here. I took the information in the screen shot below, taken from the e-visa website , to mean that a flight ticket out of Thailand is required when applying for a Tourist visa. Is that not the case?

@Exploring Thailand your question has come up before.

I think it was someone asking same in obtaining a tv eVisa from LA.

Can't recall the solution. Hopefully someone will advise.

I note it's a paid in full fare.

I would just buy a ticket from one of the "rent a flight" companies or buy the cheapest flight out.

Once you actually have the visa the onward flight will not be required by the airline at departure or by immigration on arrival.

Aside: if you are visiting Thailand prior to March 31 be aware that visa exempt entry is currently 45 days with option of obtaining 30 day extension.

That option also requires onward flight.

Thanks for that. I think I'll create a fresh thread specifically about this to see if anyone has any experience. As you say, it's a fully-paid ticket, which the rent-a-flight sites can't offer.  Some ticket sites offer 24-hour refunds on certain flights, but I'm pretty sure the e-visa wouldn't go through in 24 hours. I'm not clear whether the ticket has to be uploaded when you apply via the e-visa site.

I did look for threads to answer your question.

I notice @ubonjoe back on deck (great news)

Hopefully he can advise.

I'm thinking the cheapest throw away ticket would be one option.
