World's worst fisherman shoots himself through the head with a harpoon gun while diving for fish (but, luckily, survives after missing his brain)

A man who shot himself in the face with a harpoon after diving for fish in Thailand has been dubbed the ‘worst fisherman’ ever.

The 30-year-old named Sarot by local media had gone out with friends, telling them he wanted to ‘spear a fish’.

But after jumping into the water in the country’s Mor Mui Reservoir in the Pluak Daeng district, his harpoon unexpectedly fired sending the 4-ft long spear into his face

The harpoon reportedly ¿exploded¿ sending the 4-ft long spear into his face at Thailand's Mor Mui Reservoir

Missed his brain? what brain? if he had a brain he wouldn't shoot himself in the head...

How did he  manage to turn a four feet long harpoon towards himself when most people's arms are usually less than three feet long?

Unless he wasn't even holding the loaded gun.

He’d be a sensation at the Phuket Veg festival… only he’s probably not a vegetarian—killing fish & all—and just missed it.

Is the photo in the O.P a genuine photo and does he really have an arrow going through his head or is he just messing about and holding it there in place ?

This reminds me so much of the strange case of Phineas P. Gage (1823-1860).

Such an interesting case study, for sure!

If he had chosen to shoot himself in the head he chose the part least likely to do some real damage.

Sadly, where I live I see a few people that could shoot themselves in the brain and it wouldn't make any difference.
