The January 6 committee made a startling allegation on Monday, claiming it had evidence that a Trump-backed attorney urged a key witness to mislead the committee about details they recalled.

Though the committee declined to identify the people, CNN has learned that Stefan Passantino, the top ethics attorney in the Trump White House, is the lawyer who allegedly advised his then-client, former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, to tell the committee that she did not recall details that she did, sources familiar with the committee’s work tell CNN.

Trump’s Save America political action committee funded Passantino and his law firm Elections LLC, including paying for his representation of Hutchinson, other sources tell CNN.

So how many trumpers/republicans are secretly hoping that DOJ will indict and a jury will convict t of crimes that prevent him from holding office?  My guess is a substantial number as many of them are finally starting to realize that their dear leader is a dead loser that needs to be removed from the discussion...of course most will never state publicly that they got conned by the con man but that is exactly what happened.  But if it is the DOJ that brings t down they can then blame the DOJ rather than admit that they have backed a conman loser.

The grift now is to pretend to be running for POTUS but play 18-27 holes of golf everyday while selling trading cards to the kool aide crew. How presidential.

My personal view is that they will not take that step. While the dems really, really want Trump to run, he has shown no real signs of doing so. He formally announced that he will run only because of the faint hope it might give pause to the special counsel. Beyond that he has demonstrated none of the signs of a  presidential candidate such as making speeches or holding rallies.

That story Cassidy relayed of DT grabbing the steering wheel:  I've come to the opinion that he really didn't do it, but told his guy (the one who told it to Cass) that it happened, then leak it out so his rabble will see he tried.

Or is that too devious?  :cheesy:

Witness tampering might be on the list as well.

All this from the party of law and order.

It’s a gift to the DOJ.

They have an easy to prove crime with which to nail people at the very center of Trump’s WH administration.

Cutting a plea deal means giving up all crimes and knowledge of crimes.

The first to cooperate gets the best deal.

The prisoners dilemma at play.

I doubt that most that voted for Trump didn't know what he was, but given a choice between bad and worst they went for bad.

They went for Trump because of his racist message. Nothing to do with Hillary who actually got more votes.

IMO they don't "worship Trump" but he is the only one out there attacking Washington that can't be ignored. If they do, it's only in the same vein as some "worship" musicians or sportspeople.

I think anti Trumpers don't have a clue how much hatred there is for Washington and the establishment in the areas that support Trump.

They might hate Washington but it’s not uncommon for people receiving cash handouts to hate those giving them money:

IMO what anti Trumpers don't understand is that many GOP dislike Trump as much as any Democrat. He promoted himself as anti Washington, which includes politicians of both parties. I'm not at all surprised that some GOP people spoke against him, or are on the biased committee.

Yet he is a bigger grifter and con man than Pelosi, Fientstein, and many others including his fellow Republicans.  Time the entire swamo is drained and we go back to living life as intended and not as indebted prisoners those in the US have become because of all of the free handouts.
