ReloTH Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Relating to hotel stay - tight timeframes to get to Immigration before a hotel stay. If one hasn't had transferred the visa's over & therefore presents at check in an old (& cut) passport & a new one with no stamps will this be a problem? (driving so no air travel involved)
BritTim Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Explaining this to the hotel might be frustrating, but there is no legal reason why you need stamps to be in the new passport in order to check into a hotel. Just show them both passports, and be patient in explaining it to them. 1
DrJack54 Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 OP, In the past I have traveled for months with both passports (expired and new) throughout Thailand and overseas with zero issues.
FriendlyFarang Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Do you have a Thai driving license? Just use this when checking in.
ReloTH Posted December 24, 2022 Author Posted December 24, 2022 Thank you! Will go for it then (without the Immigration stop). Appreciate the responses.

You have to carry both passports around with you until said visas have been fully used by their expiry dates in order to obtain appropriate permissions to stay in Thailand. 1
ReloTH Posted December 27, 2022 Author Posted December 27, 2022 Thank you @OJAS saved me what would have been a wasted trip to Immigration!
