BANGKOK (NNT) - The Royal Thai Police have been ordered to find fugitive Red Bull heir Vorayuth “Boss” Yoovidhya as soon as possible and bring him to justice for his reckless driving that resulted in the death of a police officer a decade ago.

According to Government Spokesperson Anucha Burapachaisri, Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha issued the order during Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting, calling on law enforcement to track down Vorayuth Yoovidhya and bring him back to Thailand. In addition, police have been ordered to accelerate its investigation of state officials and other individuals connected with the case.

Vorayuth has been on the run since September 3, 2012, when he fatally hit a Thong Lor police officer with his Ferrari. The only remaining charge against him is reckless driving causing death, which carries a penalty of up to ten years in prison and a 15-year statute of limitations that will expire in 2027.

He killed a police officer.

If that is not enough motivation for the police to "find" him then I don't have any hope anything else will motivate them.

And to be fair: Imagine one police officer would make it his top priority to find the killer. And let's imagine he would be able to arrest him and put him behind bars. Now we can all speculate if that officer will live happily ever after, get a big promotion and be the hero. Or maybe not...

More column inches wasted on a subject that has a totally predictable ending. Further comment ( from me ) is unnecessary, T I T ????

What's the sudden hurry, Pray-hoot?  Procrastinated 8 years on this!  In your way out of power soon and the envelopes have stopped?

Sources say they must look into the ladyboy scene….

I see this as a diversionary tactic to deflect attention away from the patient who was, sadly, dead on arrival.

Their definition of 'quickly' is a bit different to the normally accepted meaning of the word.  Three Toed Sloths move faster.

Oh Dear, this is just the 'news' story that just keeps on giving.

Unless you are fresh off the boat, you just read this cr#$p and roll your eyes.

Same story rehashed, and I can't remember how many times over and over.

Anyone that has lived in Thailand for any length of time knows what the endgame is.

So as for farang naiveté on Thai justice; been there done that got the tee shirt a decade or so ago.

Just stop posting these works of fiction, it's pointless.

Does Prayuth actually believe the RTP take the slightest ounce of notice at anything he says?

Can any single individual be so important. This guy is defying the nation. Thailand has so little self respect. Personally, I don't care. Enough problems in my own country with impunity. You know, when I came here I had a feeling of superiority. Lost that. Just saying.

No he's only got five more years of waiting & watching the police tread water then all charges will be dropped.

Simply go to any Formula One race, they will find him, but they do not want to.

Just sound bites from an un-elected despot trying to win confidence from the masses, who, in all likelihood, do not give a rats a**e.

They could not " find " him in 10 years.. because large mountains of money and high ranked people involved...And now it should go quickly?? There were many opportunities, and if he was really blacklisted with interpol they would have had him already a long time ago... but no nowhere to be found...Should he be traceable now suddenly?

The only thing that motivates the RTP is CASH; so if the Government offered than a couple of million to find him they would do so.   Anyway; this is all smoke and mirrors just to make it look like Prayut and the other Gangsters he works with are actually interested in finding the Scum, which of course they are not !

Thay all know where he is , he has houses in London, Paris, Switzerland  he has been seen at F1 races  all over the place , They have not yet put an interpol  arrest warrant out on him  , he could have been in Court in Thailand many times ,, they are milking his family for easy money . TIT

he's free to roam wherever and whenever likes- "don't you know who my father is".

All i can say is good luck, he will not be found unless he wants too  be found

He's living in plain sight and could be apprehended at a moment's notice if the Thais had the will.

They've been paid off to turn a blind eye and this is usual lip service to make it look as if they are actually doing something.

Offer a big reward and he will be found in a matter of days or weeks...of course even if they bring him back and he is tried odds are that lots of envelopes will circulate through the judicial system and he will be found not guilty.  Very few really rich people anywhere go to jail unless they screw other richer people.
