Weerakit revealed that the majority of the offenses recorded during the Seven Days of Danger road safety campaign from December 29th, 2022, to January 4th, 2023, were related to drink driving, which accounted for over 8,567 cases or 96.01%, followed by driving under the influence of illegal drugs with 335 cases or 3.75%, and reckless driving with 21 cases or 0.24%. The three provinces with the highest number of road accidents were Roi Et with 469 cases, Samut Prakan with 388 cases, and Nonthaburi with 364 cases. Some of them would also have their driving license suspended. and even more bizarrely... If the offender was discovered to be highly addicted to alcohol, they would be transferred to medical centers to undergo a 4-month rehabilitation program. Looks like it - but the police already know none of them will pay the fine/ turn up at the police station/ haven't got a licence/haven't got insurance - or, very simply don't give a fishes <deleted> what the police want them to do - let alone any of them understanding what 'probation' means. So despite being ''on probation'' (whatever that actually means) - those who actually have licences can get caught a further three times before their licence is suspended for three months.
