Daily News Thai Caption: Burglars?

Owners of eight terrace properties in Trang, southern Thailand, thought they had a wave of foreign burglars on their roofs.

They called 191 to have them caught.

Muang district police hotfooted it to Kantang Road Soi 7, Soi Trok Pla, where they discovered five French guys aged about 25-30.

Two were filming.

It turned out they were creating content by doing free running or parkour on the roof.

Police called "Cut!" and gave everyone a bit of a talking to and warned them to get permission for such a stunt in the future.

Then the French gave the cops and the previously freaked out locals a bit of a show.

Before some fist bumping and selfies with the constabulary.

Daily News reported the story saying that the young men were from "the land of perfume".

I do think this sport is amazing and I enjoy watching videos of this stuff

Police just don´t get it again. They just think the guys are having fun filming themselves in a foreign country doing what they like. In reality, they are doing their work, and filming this to earn money on viewers. In reality working in Thailand without a WP. The question, though, is how far or short you should draw the line.

These idiots were climbing onto the roofs of other people's 'private' properties without the owner's permission and without even advising the home owners that they would be on their properties.

A night in the cells for these cretins would have worked much better than fist bumps.

After release, they should then be handed over to immigration for working without a visa. ????

Hey! Soon to be in the headlines:

TAT to promote Thailand as the new hub of parkour.

Invite them round, I'm sure they'll oblige.

Judging by the replies it's already the hub of Grumpy Old Buggers.

So you would openly welcome these cretins when they jump around (uninvited) on the roof of your house.

You think that it's cool to invade someone's right to privacy in their own domicile?

Maybe being a 'Grumpy Old <deleted>' gives me morals that you obviously do not possess.

Given the poor state of a lot of Thai roofs, if one or two of these frenchies fell through and ended up in hospital the story would be different and probably involve a Go Fund me page and police pointing to a hole in the roof. ????
