CNN — A document with classified markings was removed from former Vice President Mike Pence’s Indiana home Friday during a search by the FBI, according to Pence spokesman Devin O’Malley.

Six “additional pages without such markings that were not discovered in the initial review by the vice president’s counsel” were also removed, O’Malley said.

Pence is currently on the West Coast with his family after the birth of two grandchildren, according to his spokesperson.

New classified document found in FBI search of Pence home

WASHINGTON — The FBI discovered an additional document with classified markings at former Vice President Mike Pence ’s Indiana home during a search Friday, following the discovery by his lawyers last month of sensitive government documents there.

Pence adviser Devin O’Malley said the Department of Justice completed “a thorough and unrestricted search of five hours” and removed “one document with classified markings and six additional pages without such markings that were not discovered in the initial review by the vice president’s counsel.”

One "more" classified document. AFTER Pence and his "team" apparently performed an exhaustive search for classified documents, finding a "small number".

The search came weeks after Pence reported finding a “small number” of classified documents in his home in Carmel

I worked for Uncle Sam for decades, the last of them with a secret clearance. Some areas held strict adherence to document rules while others were obviously too lax. The policies are quite simple, it's just a matter of sticking to the protocol no matter how high up the food chain you are.

I suspect that it's a little hard to tell the President or VP how to handle classified documents.  In theory, they may need to use them as an actual working document.   I also suspect this has led to the Executive Branch playing fast and loose with documents.

Firstly congratulations to Mr Pence on the two brand new little scallawags. guys that high on the food chain must be awash in secret docs that’s why they need very qualified highly skilled staff to provide protection of our docs I personally do not believe there was any intent on the part of Mr Pence or president Biden

You would think those at the top would have handlers to watch over the minutiae of their actions. If not, I bet they will going forward. This has cost both sides politically.

I'd have to agree.  It's pretty clear that the Executive Branch has been playing loose with classified documents.  It appears this has been going on for a while.

It's obvious that the US government has a problem with tracking classified documents. If they paid as much attention to solving that problem as they are with some balloons the problem would be solved already.

Weren’t you raising the roof that Biden did not shoot the first one down immediately?im sure the executive branch is tightening up the ship as far as documents goes folks like Joe Biden and Mike pence take this stuff seriously

No, the US government doesn't have a problem.  The 'government' has actively pursued any missing documents.  It is the Executive Branch that has the problem.  That's a big difference.

No, they apparently didn't know that Pence and Biden had those documents.

Neither Pence nor Biden, as Vice Presidents, would have had original documents.  NARA would have the originals.  We now know that one document with Trump was copied onto another person's laptop.

This is a deficiency in the Executive Branch.
