Report Money Chaos on Thai Expressway as Motorists Grab Dropped Cash
Photo via Channel 8 A scene of unexpected chaos unfolded on the Sirat Expressway yesterday as motorists scrambled to collect money scattered across the road. This unusual event began when cash, documents, and a passport were accidentally dropped, creating a frenzy among drivers. Police Senior Sergeant Major Phatsakorn Pramuansin, from Highway Police Station 1, described the surreal scene. As he drove to work, he noticed cars ahead slowing down. Expecting an accident, he pulled over, only to find banknotes, including Thai baht and Chinese yuan, fluttering in the air. Some motorists showed commendable honesty, promptly handing the cash to Phatsakorn, who identified himself as a police officer. Yet, not everyone chose the same path. Several individuals seized the opportunity and vanished with their windfall. Complicating matters further, a coach bus driver reportedly claimed the money as his, persuading many to hand over their findings. Despite this, Phatsakorn collected over 20,000 baht from cooperative drivers. With the passport left behind, he identified its owner as Wanisa, a 36-year-old Thai woman, who was just becoming aware of her missing items. The unsolved mystery left questions hanging in the air. Would Wanisa press charges or seek the return of the remaining money? As of now, no legal action has been pursued against those who kept their newfound bounty. The decision lies in the hands of Wanisa, as authorities await her next move. In the midst of the chaos, the event raises moral questions about honesty and the right course of action when faced with found money. For now, the tale of the scattered cash serves as a reminder of human nature’s varied responses to unexpected fortune. Adapted by ASEAN Now from The Thaiger 2025-06-25 -

It is the case. It was always about medical marijuana and 0.2% THC. The free market had other ideas and produced a multi billion baht industry. Now they want to shut this down.
