    It's a good snake to have hanging around.  I've seen some pretty large ones where I live.

     

    My next door neighbor had one in his yard and called Rescue to come and get it.  When the rescue people were catching it the snake hissed at them a little.  They started saying it must be mixed with cobra.  DOH!!! 

    Looks similar to the African Puff Adder. I would say poisonous
