Fred Sanford
Well, you may as well throw Lionel Ritchie into the burning oil vat too "once, twice, three times a lady..blah blah" Come to think of it you can throw out his daughter Nicole and add bff Paris Hilton for good measure. come on now guy, if Ritchie never gave us that song then we'd never have had the classic eddie murphy's Buck Wheat version. Now that is awesome. if you never heard it then check it out on youtube
Fred Sanford
I agree with the #1 position wholeheartedly. The rest also thoroughly deserve to be there. But now I'm gonna upset a lot of folks by nominating what many will say is an all time classic and that is My way by Frank Sinatra. It is about the most depressing dirge ever laid down in the name of music, IMO of course. It is so bad that it does a great service to pub singers and karaoke terrorists the world over. No matter how bad you are at singing and no matter how p1ssed you are you can sing it perfectly. Right, I'm off to get into the fire resistant suit. I'm sorry "My Way" upsets you so much. I like it sung by the old crooner himself. If a song gained a bad reputation through being depressing, you can do far worse. How about "I don't like Mondays", "Bohemian Rhapsody" .....or anything by "Black Sabbath"...absolutely morbid. Another annoying song IMO with a most ridiculous title: "The 59th Street Bridge Song" by Simon & Garfunkel Hold on there tropo, the old crooner is awesome as is Bobby Darin but Sabbath is classic as well. I just watched the 1999 reunion concert with the original members and it was spectacular. Great version of the awesome tune "Dirty Women" "I see a man who's got take away women for sale, yes for sale. Guess that's the answer cause take away women don't fail" Osboune, Iommi

Fred Sanford
Why isnt Timmy Mallet on the opening list.?! (Hmm, but only Brits will know this. I guess thats why)Yellow Polka dot bikini (oh yeah!) OMG shoot me. Yes that tune is very annoying and weak. It was done by a good artist though, Brian Hyland, who had a hit with the great song "Gypsy Woman", penned by the immortal Curtis Mayfield and produced by Rock Hall of Famer Del Shannon. Hyland also had a smash hit in '62 with " Sealed with a Kiss" which reached #2 on Billboard. The polka dot bikini tune was a #1 smash in 1961. That song actually has an interesting concept of a girl being bashful to go out in public in a skimpy bikini http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Hyland Edited July 5, 2007 by Fred Sanford

Fred Sanford
Ok, I'll name one.....even though the mere thought of it will have me involuntarily humming it for days.....Walking on Sunshine....by Katrina and the Waves. "I'm walking on sunshine...ohhh ohhh...and dont'cha feel good..hey...alright now..... Sorry if any readers are adversely affected by this post. Awesome song, great group. A couple of checks and 2 dudes and mega talented. Katrina did the vocals and leads guitarist chick wrote most of the tunes including that smash hit "walking on sunshine". brahmburgers
I Had Too Much to Dream Last Night - The Electric Prunes I heard somewhere that a music manager heard the early Doors in L.A. and opted instead to manage the Electric Prunes out of San Francisco. That's almost as screwed as the musical talent scout who was cleaning out his drawer in the early 70's and found a note to himself; "new group called the Beatles. No potential." also: Have I The Right? by the Honeycombs "Have I the right to hold you? You know I've always told you That we must never ever part oh ooh ooh oh Have I the right to kiss you? You know I'll always miss you I've loved you from the very start Come right back I just can't bear it I've got this love and I long to share it Come right back I'll show my love is strong Have I the right to touch you? If I could you'd see how much you Send those shivers running down my spine. Ooh Ooh Have I the right to thrill you? You know I'll wait until you Give me the right to make you mine. Well, Come right back I just can't bear it I've got this love and I long to share it Come right back I'll show my love is strong. Oh yeah. All right! (break) Have I the right to hold you? You know I've always told you That we must never ever part. No no no no no no Have I the right to kiss you? You know I'll always miss you. I've loved you from the very start. November Rain
Amateurs! You're all amateurs! You want annoying songs? Here are 3 no-one's even thought of: Rat Rap - Roland Rat (only Brits will know this) Tie a Yellow Ribbon - Dawn Wannabe - Spice Girls Special mention goes to anything by Weird Al Yankovic... 99 red balloons by somebodyorother (forget) "99 red balloons go bang..na na nana...99 red balloons go bang.."Must have been love (but its over now) by another band i forget the name of..danish band or something. I will always love you - Whitney Houston. Gawd was a time when you couldnt walk down the street without hearing it, or someone singing or humming it. Worse yet when you realise your doing it yourself. Anything and everything sung by Whitesnake. More than words by an equally annoying soft rock band..again forget the blasted band name. ahh wait..it was by 'exteme' 90% of all rock ballads, esp those that make people get out lighters. eek, 99 red balloons (German or English version) was by Nena. I love Whitesnake! And I like rock ballads (but not lighters - I singe my fingers! )

brahmburgers
correction; it was Bobby Vinton, (not Bobby Darin) who sang "Take Good Care of my Baby" Sorry Bobby. My tears are fallin' 'cause you've taken her away And though it really hurts me so There's something that I've gotta say Take good care of my ba-a-a-by Please don't ever make her blu-u-u-ue Just tell her that you love her Make sure you're thinking of her In everything you say and do-o-o-o Aww, take good care of my ba-a-a-by Now don't you ever make her cry-y-y-y Just let your love surround her Paint a rainbow all around her Don't let her see a cloudy sky Once upon a time that little girl was mine If I'd been true, I know she'd never be with you So, take good care of my ba-a-a-by Be just as kind as you can be-e-e-e And if you should discover That you don't really love her Just send my baby back home to me Well, take good care of my ba-a-a-by Be just as kind as you can be-e-e-e And if you should discover That you don't really love her Just send my baby back home to me Aww, take good care of my ba-a-a-by Well, take good care of my ba-a-a-by - - - - - - - did anyone mention; Yummy Yummy Yummy I Got Love in my Tummy (?)
