Police in the eastern Thai province of Sa Kaeo said they had arrested a 21 year old former employee of Lotus Express for the theft of 300,000 baht from a safe.

 

The store on Tessaban 6 road in Muang district was robbed at the weekend.

Pliers were used to break in, the CCTV system was disabled then a key was used to open the safe.

 

Police used CCTV from the area of the crime and many other places that tracked the thief's movements all the way to a eucalyptus grove, reported Thai Rath.

 

There they staked him out before an arrest was made.

Sanoh Sato, or Tam, a local man was taken into custody.

 

He admitted in detail how he had broken into then stolen from the store where he used to work.

You don't really believe the police would ever bother with him if he disappeared outside their jurisdiction 

...and there's always work in the informal economy.

 

 

 

 

 

I would suggest he leaves the toilet window open on one of his shifts and comes back at night.  You should not have to smash your way into the place.  The cctv is a problem though.  No face no case.

Unusual, they normally run to their mothers place!

Not really sure how you can refer to that flimsy metal box as a 'safe.'

So when he left their employment they let him keep the key.
