Popular Post Scott Posted April 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 5, 2023 Russia’s ongoing military defeats in Ukraine and the social burden of mobilization are rapidly cooling the public’s support for the war. Meduza has gained access to the results of an opinion poll commissioned by the Kremlin “for internal use only.” According to the study conducted by the Federal Protective Service (FSO), 55 percent of Russians favor peace talks with Ukraine, while only a quarter of the respondents still support continuing the war. The FSO poll does not diverge all that much from the results of an October public-opinion study conducted by the Levada Center, Russia’s only large independent sociological institute. https://meduza.io/en/feature/2022/11/30/make-peace-not-war 4 1

Popular Post ballpoint Posted April 6, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 6, 2023 Interesting that this was "leaked" by the Kremlin itself. Could it be the start of an attempted face saving by Putin? "Of course, we want to, and could, fight until we win, but the people have spoken, and I always follow the will of the Russian people". It could also be a double bluff though. Set some ridiculous conditions in the negotiations, and when Ukraine refuses to accept them, carry on the attack with the (delusionally perceived, and broadcast as such to the Russian people), moral high ground. "Look, we did what you said, but these Ukrainians are having none of it. We must continue the fight. Fresh conscripts!". 3 1

ogb Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 For those paying attention, Russia has always been willing to negotiate......it was Boris (UK/USA) who scuttled negotiations, and since then Ukraine hasn't had any wins big enough to be able to get back to the negotiating table with a hand worth playing. 1 1 7

You are 100% incorrect on that sir. What Putin says is the opposite of what he does. He also does not wish to return the invaded lands he claims he has annexed. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.rferl.org/amp/russia-putin-war-negotiations/32190264.html&ved=2ahUKEwjBnJ2g9pT-AhVFD1kFHepmA2EQFnoECBIQAQ&usg=AOvVaw0Awuu6u_BfKYA5UyMlUWGm Putin had "shown absolutely zero indication that he's willing to negotiate" an end to the war. 6 4 1

The problem being that Russia will want to negotiate on its terms only, and that would include keeping any gains they may have made, as well as the other parts of Ukraine which they invaded a while back. And I don't see why Ukraine has to have "any wins big enough to be able to get back to the negotiating table" when it is their country and IMO the worst possible scenario would be to go back to the status quo of a couple of years ago 3 2 4

Popular Post ThailandRyan Posted April 6, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 6, 2023 The day will come for negotiations, and that will be when Putin has lost complete power within his own circles. Popular Post Denim Posted April 6, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 6, 2023 There can be no meaningful negotiations until Russia withdraws all its troops from Ukrainian territory. Until this fundamental requirement is met the war will continue , more to the detriment of Russia than Ukraine. 5 2

Absolute rubbish. The only negotiations Putin is interested in is Ukraine surrendering all the territories Putin wants , which are in fact less than he had originally wanted. 3

Popular Post Vlad66777 Posted April 23, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 23, 2023 It's very fun to read foreigners' comments about what Russians think and want. Maybe for a start ask the opinion of the Russian people themselves ?? You have been brainwashed by the Americans. What truth do you want to know from their press?? The autonomous non-profit organization Yuri Levada Analytical Center received a significant amount of foreign funding from the United States, including from the University of Wisconsin, which is curated by the Pentagon. Meduza's sources of funding, which had been kept secret until that moment, were discovered by a careful study of the publication's financial statements. Among the sponsors of the opposition media were two Western organizations, which at one time were partners of George Soros. One of them also funded a project by Pussy Riot members and Russian LGBT communities. Information about the agreements concluded is contained in the financial statements of the Latvian company Medusa Project SIA for 2017. 1 5

First, you are saying that the media is tainted by the US. Yet, you substantiate it with nothing. You cast aspersions on anything having to do with the US, including George Soros and then the U of W.
