ikke1959 Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 The first of 7 dangerous days??? Yesterday Phetkasem Road was not even extreem busy as the seven days took probably off already lasgt weekend, when it was extreem busy.. But if they count too early there a re not 7 days of dangers, but 10 or more days. Anyway every day is very dangerous on the roads, but only 2 times of a year they pretend to make them safer... 1

I totally agree, in most countries road blocks are only ever used chasing after fugitives. Plain clothes cops in unmarked cars and on motor bikes should be mingling on the roads where most hotspots are.

Why is a fly-over any more risky than using the regular road (and usually waiting at the traffic light) ??? I know its not permitted - but I use a flyover wherever possible (informing the signs just like the majority of other motorcyclists) for numerous reasons... one of them being being stationary waiting at lights is hot, but also risks the possibility of some idiot having 'brake failure’...

Official sources - 14,700 deaths per year / 40 per day WHO Estimate - 25,000 deaths per year / 68 per day The ‘Seven deadly days of Songkran’ - Day 1 - 27 deaths. Numerous posters always comment on the disparity between the 'Songkran Seven Deadly days’ and actual daily average over the year and highlight that Songkran is actually less deadly !!! Yet, every year we see exactly the same reports almost as if they were a copy and pasted from the year before and the year before that.
