Scoliosis

Featured Replies

Guys right now I'm in bed ,the last few days for some unknown reason my spine looking in the mirror has curved ,my body is leaning towards the right side !!

I have lower back pain ,taking paracetamol.

I googled this ,it seems the symptoms of scoliosis.

My friend went out and bought me a back brace which has helped.

My question is ,I need to go back to work Thursday, will this get better ?

Who do I see ? Chiropractic? Physio ? Osteopathic?

The AI Chatbot that I use suggests a Psychologist.

Of course, like you I'm not medically trained so it's only a suggestion.

You need to see an Orthopedics specialist now. Scoliosis does not suddenly onset without prior trauma. The appearance of leaning to one side or the other might be muscular or disc related, my guess is the latter.

Im putting heat balm on it, you don't think it could be bone cancer ?

I went to the gym last week that could be related,I'm hoping it gets better by Thursday

I don't like taking paracetamol because of my liver disease which one day I may need a transplant so I'm forced to take the paracetamol because of the pain

I'm thinking of going to a chiropractor which there is one up the road from me but there's also a osteopathy?

I was just about to say whatever you do don’t go to a chiropractor. You need to be examined and probably X-rayed first. I wouldn’t want it manipulated without knowing why there’s a sudden change.

Don't start again! Your many many posts about a whole range of baseless concerns are undermining the credibility of the health forum which serves an important purpose for many people. No, you don't have bone cancer, it sounds like you jerked a muscle at the gym. Go see a doctor and whilst there, ask him about your liver transplant and anything else that bothers you.

Are you sure it's not (SAD), Seasonal affective disorder, I'm not taking the pi$$, Google it ????

Things aside, I have had what you think you have for decades, no one could fix it, except one Thai massage lady in Patong, every time I would visit, she would fix it, that said, 100% you have aggravated it at the gym, you wouldn't have felt it at the time.

Just leave it be, sit somewhere comfortable, put one leg over the other, starting with your right leg and pull your knee towards your stomach, while your pushing it to the left at the same time, you should feel a hell of a sore area in your bottom, if you do, hold that for as long as you can, (minimum 20 seconds) and then slowly release it, then do the other side.

When you have done the above, put your shoulders back and make sure your chin is not forward, sit in the position for a while and also get off your feet and lay down for a bit, turn your head to the left as far back as you can allowing those neck muscles to stretch then do the same to the right, whatever you do, don't push it and don't aggravate it.

Leave the gym for at least a week, see how you go, as for bone cancer, nah, too melodramatic.

Let us know how you go Georgie :stoner:

How to Fix a Bulging Disc (NO SURGERY!)

Addresses the listing to one side issue. Other vids have standard back strengthening exercises. At the gym, prefer to use the machines that give more back support. Most people can't do deadlifts or squats properly, so use the leg press machine. Instead of cable rows, use the seated row machine. Etc.

This. At 68 and no history of gym before this year I mostly stick to the machines.
