Tucker Carlson out at Fox News, 1 week after Dominion settlement

TV host Tucker Carlson and Fox News have "agreed to part ways," Fox said in a statement Monday.

"We thank him for his service to the network," Fox said in the statement about the top-rated host, which noted that Carlson's last show was on Friday.

The network did not provide a reason for Carlson's departure.

part  ! It was a great while it lasted.

His brand of commentary was refreshing compared to the other host of characters thats on other sites, depending on one’s politics.

He’s gonna be around for awhile , he’s  young, he probably signed a nondisclosure agreement and will wait to take on a new news position , like Megan Kelly did before she went on to work for Nbc after parting Fox imop

Well who ever follows him in that spot sure has a tough job in meeting ratings ,after all it was the number 1 rated cable news show in 2023.

For those that believe Tucker is a fan of his former workplace leaders and is truly a Trump supporter, this might make your eyes gloss over and basically implies why he was let go. Many e-mails of Carlson's were sent to Dominion during the lead-up to the hearing.

Tucker is a horrible person.  He made racism OK and brought it along with numerous conspiracies into the homes of millions of viewers.  Many of those people weren't haters, but a steady diet of hate got them there.

At least it was more than balanced than CNN IMO. Certainly more entertaining and didn't rely on bashing Trump to get viewers.

 

Tucker getting the heave ho is going to make a lot of posters on AN happy, going by past comments, but I liked his shows, though he could have worked on more than one expression.

Doesn't seem to make a difference to Fox who they fire. Bill O'Reilly apparently had the number 1 show on Fox and they booted him.

I liked Bill's show as he was nobody's fool and helped veterans.

You want a link?  Have you been living under a rock?  You say you watched him and still don't know that much of what he does on air is a conspiracy.  Well, let's start with the most obvious one -- the election was rigged and Trump really won.  He didn't.  Zero evidence of massive fraud.  It also landed the entire network in Court. 

Second, he said the January 6 insurrection was not orchestrated by Trump, but by his foes to make him look bad.

Never watched too much other than a few youtube clips. It might be part of the lawsuit settlement that Fox has to decruit a few people.  In any case, with the changing media landscape these days, Tucker will probably be better off not being part of a large organization. I can see podcasts and Substack in his future, as well as a boatload of cash. He had 3 million viewers nightly, if he can take them to another platform he will be fine. 

 

As for a replacement, I personally hope it isnt Charlie Kirk. He seems like a bit of a blowhard to me.  How about Michael Knowles...

Yet, CNN holds its hosts to account for their aberrant behaviour as, IMO, everyone should be held, including criminal defendant Trump.
