I found the name of the temple w/ bat cave: Wat Tham Pha Ya (Na Duang). Prepare to wash clothes if you enter the cave ???? That was also exciting. And also bring torch, no lighting like in Erawan.

ภูเรือ รีสอร์ท (Phurua resort), Phu Rua, Loei.  Has a stream behind, and can be rather nice.   Maybe pop in, take a peek, a munch, or not. Actually flooded when we stayed there, so had small water falls, as shown in these photo:

Exciting. Staying with a fair dinkum hill tribe at 20 with my girlfriend. Riding around Koh Samui like an idiot with no insurance on Koh Samui and having fun there. 

Everything in Thailand can seem a bit exciting after long periods working through a cold winter especially my first visit after covid.

I had to hit the brakes when a full-grown bull elephant made a right turn in front of me. He was coming from Rama IV onto Sukhumvit in rush-hour traffic. 

 

I had a lot more exciting stuff happen to me in the US than in Thailand.

Probably my night walk up a stream in Doi Phu Kha, Nan. Had to be incredibly careful climbing over and under things as the snakes and other wildlife were everywhere. The tiny vipers and itchy caterpillars were hardest to spot. The huge leeches in the water, not so. 

 

We also had a moment when we entered an injured bear's territory (another day) half way up the mountain. Our ranger told us they often attack if injured. That was more scary than exciting though. I don't think we'd stand much chance with only sticks, especially on the steep slopes.

I probably have much more exciting things, but I would say camping in Khao Yai. My wife and I don’t mind a hike and have went 4 times during the Christmas break. Twice we saw wild elephants.  Last time was two Xmas’s ago. Saw a large bull elephant from the road. It was standing on top of a hill about 200 hundred meters from the road. Surely watching guard for a pack of elephants on the other side. Also went on a verrry long hike. The park trails weren’t properly maintained because they had just reopened after being closed for a couple years of COVID regulations.  That was a work out. Climbing over dozens and dozens of huge fallen trees. 
Before our hike, we couldn’t find the entrance to the trail. So we asked the rangers and still barely found it. 
once on the trail we heard something behind us. It was a monkey just walking behind us until he walked right past us. Then as we followed him/her down the trail it would stop and turn around. As if to say, “Come on!  Quit dragging your feet. I am your guide”.  
Then we heard (couldn’t see but had a video/audio recording) of two black bears about 100 meters away fighting. 
 

Another one- Visiting an elephant santuary when we were visiting Chaing Mai. About an hour south in a Songtaew. Cloudy, cold, bumpy ride and light rain all day. All worth it to feed the elephants (sanctuary, they roam free, but come crashing throught the mountains and forest when called). Taking them to the river to throw and rub mud all over them, followed by buckets of water. It was a great experience.  Much better than going somewhere to ride these poor majestic creatures.

Climbed into a car with four Thai guys and a Thai girl I'd only met five minutes before hand........the bars in BKK were closing early and I asked what's happening?...........they said come with us and drove me to a derelict multistory car park, up about five floors.

 

We got out of the car, walked over toward some tarpaulins......opened them up and inside it was hopping..........pool table, fruit machine, music and wall to wall girls.....a good night was had by all.

Trecking to the hill tribes 40 years ago, being stopped by opium field guards who let us go as our guide assured them we were young tourists. Sleeping in the village huts , being amazed at the beautiful people and their customs. 
My most frightening experience was the tsunami on Patong beach. Although I was fine, I thought everyone I knew was dead. They weren’t, but I cried for days .

Phu Bo Bit has some very nice views. I was up there at dawn in October last year.  The new stairs and viewing points are light years ahead of what used to be there.  It's still quite a climb for older folks.

I remember chasing an elephant down the sois in Patong (in the days when elephants were brought into the city in the evening for bananas).  I was a tourist police volunteer and said elephant had just sat on a car!
