Either "within their power" and I would suspect outside of their power as well.

All's fair in love and war - - and Thai politics.

So what nonsense do they have on MFP? The sleeping giant is stiring. If they cancel the election/dissolve parties the sleeping giant will awaken.

I think they said lies about Anutin and Marijuana...that he want to complete liberalize it.  (Which would be a good thing) So BJ is sueing them.

ou forget the last trick that are stack into cupboards of schools because within a year, the cheap 'Ipads" promised to every schoolkid, to aid their education. Remember a buffalo is easily lead, once the ring in its nose is in place, or a handful of grass is offered. also the carrot on a stick makes the donkey move where you want it to go.

The current regime has been giving away BILLIONS for the last eight years, in the form of welfare, income assistance, debt restructuring, agricultural subsidies, fuel subsidies, electricity subsidies. And the current regime is quick to point out all of these giveaways.

Get a grip.

22 million people applied for the current round, and at least 14.5 m were approved.

The real issue, such as it is, is the potential return of Thaksin. The spectre of him setting foot on Thai soil is enough to drive the PtB to massage the election in any way possible. Another coup is the very, very, very last option. A sham election is better than another coup.

Do you not think one could lead to the other?

But my understanding is everyone gets the 10000 if they meet eligibility. Not those who voted for them. So it is a normal policy of income redistribution except for the digital aspect of it. My state government in Australia had a promise of $250 to help with electricity. Similar type of thing.

yes but the strange Thai election laws prohibit such things. Prayuth wanted to lower the electric price and the election commission blocked it as it could be seen as vote buying thing.
