Obtaining Marriage Visa

Featured Replies

I plan to get married later this year after entering LOS with a 30 DAY VISA EXEMPTION. What must I do to obtain a Marriage Visa?

This thread is CW Specific but outlines the process.

Advice to state immigration office.

Edit: just noticed that you are not even married prior to entry Thailand.

You will require more time than 30 day stamp..

You can obtain a 30 day extension and after marriage a 60 day extension to visit wife.

To apply for non O marriage you require 15day + remaining on your permission of stay and 400k in Thai bank account in your name only on day of application.

There is no Marriage Visa.

Are you asking about a Non Imm O Visa?

A 60 day extension to visit your Wife?

A 12 month extension to stay with your Wife?

Make sure it is an official marriage. Just getting married the traditional way is not recognized for getting an extension based on marriage.

In Phuket its no less then 21 days.

I applied on April 24 and visa is still under processing.

One of Phuket immigration volunteers told me that applications are sent to Hat Yai for some higher rank officer to sign them.

That's all correct.

Also CM requires 21 days remaining.

As is the norm in Thailand each office has their particular requirements..

Get married.

You should be more concerned about visa options prior to that actually taking place, may well be longer than you anticipate.

It's all semantics. Of course there is a marriage visa, that's just not the official name. There is no "12 month extension to stay with your wife" either by that logic.

Regards marriage..there is

1. Non O based on marriage. Validity 90 days.

2. A ME Non O based on marriage

Validity.12 months.

3. An extension from a non O.

Valid for 12 months.

It's hardly semantics.

Advice varies on what you actually have.
