Go to nana some pretty big shops in outstanding location.  Pattaya walking street the same.

yea you can't make something legal, let an industry start up, then cancel the thing very quickly. as mentioned, the new govt will have a lot of other priorities ahead of a weed bill. nothing will happen this year.

 

i would guess the owners of a lot of those BKK shops are also valet parking their Mercs all over town. there's some struggling startups, but its most likely the elites with the largest investment. how did they import so much weed from the US and Canada without issues? backpacks on mules? if the elites weren't involved, for and against each other, they wouldn't care. they don't care about daily drunk driving deaths or yaba.

You mean the Chinese and Russian Cash Laundrys, no way are the selling that amount of weed in respect to the number of shops all over the place, never see many customers inside, back to opening 7/11s I guess.

No it's not. It's for 24 hrs. 6 pm today (Sat) - 6 pm tomorrow (Sun). As for weed it will always be around it will just be an offence. The BIB must be very happy about this as they can start clawing back lost revenue.

I think this is not going to be a ''here today, gone tomorrow'' news item. Just click bait.  There are major players in what is now a hugely financed industry. The shop front operators will get shut down as they have no power.  At the same time, many private and publicly traded companies have invested billons of baht in farms and by product facilities. they ain't going away soon. Despite the loonie behind the original idea,  this is a super boost for new, Thai health related exports.

Decriminalisation of weed should be supported; adults should generally  be free to choose their indulgence, which causes no harm to others, and jails should not be full of persons having a smoke. However it should be treated like the worse, big brother, tobacco products. It should not be able to be put on display and advertisements should not be allowed. Furthermore it should not be permitted to be sold in food products.

In one particular road I know of at least 5 shops that sell weed they are that close to each other it talke less than a minute to go from one shop to another I think it will be very difficult for a newly formed Government to put a stop to it and it will destroy 1,000s of jobs as well as the economy. I don’t do drugs so it won’t effect my life .

Yes i realize its not ''actually" 2 days, but my point was its not a problem for the alcohol, the weed being possibly illegal again ad infinitum, will be, for some? The BIB will be rubbing their hands together!

When it was announced that the government would make it  legal

To have cannabis and Marijuana available to sell 

The first thought was money ???? and tourism coming to Thailand to try it out ????

Now they are thinking of reversing the decision 

I think a few people will be thinking what's going on with policy decisions 

Being decided by Government in the future does not bode well ????

I love watching tourists ask the supermarkets to explain why alcohol sales are forbidden during school hours - then throw their hands up in the air, in despair. Little knowing that your local Thai grocery store will sell you booze at any hour, day or night. This is why I love Thailand. It makes you laugh every day. Good for your health.

Well, there is a difference.

 

Not everyone who drinks alcohol has the express purpose of getting blitzed. Some people just enjoy the flavor of, for example, a nice Barolo with a filet.

 

I suspect nobody lights up a joing because of the flavor. The sole purpose of weed is to get stoned.

 

Granted 'junkie' implies addiction, and isn't exactly fair, but alcohol need not be consumed to excess, while weed is always consumed to excess; there's precious little reason to light up except to get buzzed.

i kinda liked it for the general freedom of choosing ..if i wanted i could make that choice as an adult..

petty if the choice is taken and regulated by the gov...especially when its weed ..soooooo dangerous :)
