Jurin Laksanawisit has resigned as leader of the Democrat party to take responsibility for the party’s poor performance in the May 14th general election.

In his Line message to Democrat party members at about 11.30pm Sunday night, Jurin congratulated the party’s candidates who won their seats and offered moral support to those who did not.

He also thanked former party leaders Chuan Leekpai and Abhisit Vejjajiva, members of the executive board and the party faithful for their support.

For a party that contains many intelligent people, it bewilders me they failed to see the rise of FF as a sign of the times.

maybe they weren't nearly as smart as they were given credit for. this exposes that no ?

How can you be "clean as well" when you sell your soul for a minister's seat (Jurin voted for Prayuth to be PM because he wanted to be a Minister again)? Hey, just asking'.

He's a workaholic, money was not his motivation, running a ministry was.

Ok bye.

Ahbisit resigned after poor election showing as a result of his decision to work with the military and now Jurin suffered the same fate. The party image has been battered beyond salvation. Pity as they are the oldest party and had some golden years.

The democrats used to pretty much sweep the whole of the south. Voting for the Democrats in the south probably was as much a anti Pheua Thai/Isan vote as it was a vote for the Democrats themselves. Now ,with a more progressive , non-establishment party available, the Southerners seem to have abandoned the Democrats.

You run a ministry to get ultra rich.....that's how it works, as minister you get X% of the value of all procurement
