Hold your horses there, they just got in power.  You don't know anything by what a politician says, even if you like what they are saying, they lie a lot.  So let's just see how it plays out before talking about demonstrations of commitments to rights etc.  Personally, I believe one should not trust any politician ever.  ESPECIALLY the ones you like.  99% chance they are telling you what you want to hear and will betray you 5 weeks after being in office if not earlier.  Do they SOUND better?  Hell yes.  But so did Bernie Sanders, and now look at him.

With Pita as a head of the state, Thailand will be heading to instability and violent protests. This all about money and greedy politicians. Everyone wants to have a piece of cake. Now they will start dividing the new cake. Pita is just an actor, he is not a politician, neither has he any experience. He is just an icon for Thai people to vote for him (mostly women and young people). Who is standing behind Pita? Did United States influence the elections?

With Prayut as a head of state, Thailand was having the lowest inflation rate among countries in the region.

 

What is important for me and other business people in Thailand is economical and political stability in the country.

I do not agree with OP. In my opinion, the last 10 years in Thailand were the most stable  and mature period in its history. The mentality of Asian people is very different from Western. American Democracy Model is not applicable to many countries in South East Asia.

Yes. If the military backed senators back down, and don't cause problems. The army owes that to the people, after 8 plus years of devastating results. If Cha Cha is the tiniest bit sincere about not interfering, the last year of their time in office needs to be revoked immediately. Let the people make the decisions, not highly corrupt, totally compromised men who have sold their soul to the heinous, toxic army.

I would agree with you in part.  There are many people who have been locked up because they have voiced their dissent about the Government and "the Like".  And whilst I did not do a degree in Business Studies, the common feeling (and according to the press) Thailand has lost it's position compared to other Asian Countries, which it cannot afford to do.  Also the amount of alleged coruption I find so depressing, which effectively is robbing the people of wage increases and the development of the Country in General.  Personally i am in a very good position.  I have both a lovely Thai Wife with great Parents, I bought her a small Resort so when I am no longer in this World, she will have a good personal income, she will also inherit a Rubber Tree Plantation of 60 rai and about 100 rai of another plantation with a house.  I do have a fear and that is if the Senate blocks the new colition from taking power.  I think this might just be the straw that breaks the camel's back as the Thais are sensing a better and less restricted way of life.

I truly hope that Move Forward becomes successful, but having made so many powerful enemies before even starting is not the way to gain the support of Parliament.

With no political experience, will they overcome the underhand methods used by experienced politicos? 

If they are forced to collaborate, who will grab the most lucrative posts? Those trolls that seek power and money? 

How long before we read that Pheu Thai has stabbed them in the back? 

They are not in for an easy ride.

My Mrs is average and says it has been OK for her, but yes, her family have struggled a bit. I shall ask again in 12 months if & when Pita is PM.

Nothing will happen without the blessing of the military and their 250 appointed senators are already flexing their collective muscles. It’s hard to see any change under these circumstances and things have probably gotten worse for the average citizen. Hard to see the generals backing down.

I wish them luck also.

Trouble is that the rules were changed some time ago to ensure that the military always had a large say in the running of the administration.

That is likely to be the big stumbling block for the democratically elected government. I think it will be very difficult to return the full government to civilian control.
