Thai Elite Fifteen Year Membership Extension for 15 Years for 500 000 THB

For private reasons I joined Thai Elite in 2019 and got a 5 year PE Visa which I paid 500 000 THB for and it has served me very well with my needs so far.

 

If any Thai Elite Members joined initially for 5 years same as I did and are considering extending there membership then please consider reading further.

 

Since I applied the price for the 5 year membership for my type of membership has increased to 600 000 THB.

 

On the 21st March 2023 I applied for a 15 year Thai Elite Membership extension which cost me 500 000 THB with timeline details listed below:

 

• 21 March applied for 15 year membership extension
• 8 May my application was approved by Thai Immigration
• 9 May paid 500 000 THB
• 10 May Thai Elite 15 Year Superiority Extension Membership Letter received

 

I also got a free 6 months Thai Elite membership extension due to Covid so now my membership in Thai Elite is valid until end 2039.

@vibration., I did exactly same. First thinking I had to start over and pay 1 mill. Wrote Elite when my 5y one was getting close to expiry. They told me same, upgrade to 20 years and pay the difference of 500k ( meaning 15 years for 500k) brilliant

Get a 10-year Long Term Resident visa for 50,000 baht, renew visa another 10 years for 50,000 baht. Annual (vs 90-day) notifications of residence.

So 20 years for 100,000 baht. Granted no golf discounts and limo rides but do get airport Fast Track and other benefits such as multiple re-entries and duty-free entry. Also can include children under visa.

Many people mention this LTR visa as better alternative to an Elite visa.

 

Without doubt its a better option, but the requirements to qualify are pretty tough, meaning in reality very few can get one

The OP ought to mention that during the 15 year extension period there are no airport transfers provided.

Thats the only difference to the easy access 5 year visa that he had originally.

It's a pretty good deal for another 15 hassle free years.

This is a lie, the LTR is 5 years, then re-applying for another 5 years for up to 10 years, if successful in re-applying, and no one has re-applied, as LTR has only been around recently, there is no 10 year and 10 year, it only has 5 years, then re-apply for another 5 years, nothing to do with 10 year or 20 year programmes like the Elite

 

As for requirements, most wouldn't touch this, as it's a BOI programme, and has too many strict financial requirements for most, to attract businesses, and larger businesses, and wealthy salary workers from overseas, the other areas are just silly, especially the global wealth one

 

But overall, a new government might ditch it, as it never is honest in how many actual visas, have been given, only publicly mentions application requests

 

Elite has 25,000 members and is growing by 5000 every 6 months, much better for living an actual long term life with peace of mind, with a visa programme, that means 20 years, of not worrying about re-applying, or worrying about, will it go up to 10 years, and then worry what might happen, Elite is by far the best option for long term stayers in Thailand, and is also the cheapest Golden Visa on the planet

There are 4 LTR visa types - I have the pensioner annual income must exceed $80k USD. Obviously, one's financial situation may change after 5 years and it's is reasonable for Immigration to review that the visa holder's income is still at the minimum required by the LTR visa. Like with any visa an applicant needs to understand how they are maintained. In my own situation my pension will only increase, based on US inflation rate regardless where I live; recent US COLA was 8.7% vs Thailand 3.5%. 

In terms of paying an additional 400k baht for the subject 20 year visa that bypasses predictable terms of review seems more frivolous than practical.

You mean for "young long terms stayers". Once you reach 50, with that kind of money it makes much more sense to use retirement.

Most reasonably successful professionals in retirement have pension income well over $ 80,000. I was surprised the Thai Government set the "wealthy pensioner" bar so low.

How I can get this? I never went to school or had work, just lucky a lot of money from lottery winning. I'm also under 30 years old.

It seems very unlikely that you would qualify for LTR visas or anything other than an Elite membership or an investment visa (which I consider a bad idea). If confident that you want to stay long term in Thailand, go for a Thailand Elite membership.

Yes but you need an income  of $80,000 per year if I’m correct as well

There is an alternative to the minimum $80k USD.  Something like, minimum $40k USD plus securities. Check LTR web site for exact requirements.

Please go read the requirements yourself. These LTR are very hard to get. you can find them here https://ltr.boi.go.th/#

Interested in LTR but I will never ever have a "pension". No problem with the income or assets but to apply for the wealthy global person track it appears I must then purchase $500K USD equivalent Thai govt bonds or real estate. No thanks. I already own a Thai condo unit many years
