90 Day Due May 22nd, Flight 5/23 - Do I Need to File?

Featured Replies

Hello,

If my 90 day report is due on May 22nd, I can file up to May 29th, right?

So if my international flight leaves May 23rd, do I have to file at all, or will there be potential problems if I leave Thailand without filing for the 90 day report?

Thanks for your help. ????

Yes, 7 day grace period

No need to file, depart as usual.

No problems when u depart or return.

Definitely no problems when exiting and subsequently re-entering Thailand at the airport. However, come the time you need to submit your first 90-day report after your return to Thailand, there is, in theory, the hopefully remote possibility that some nit-picking officer at your local office will spot the missing report due on 22 May and slap you with a 2,000 THB fine as a result.

The 7-day grace period after the due date does not, in fact, exempt you from the requirement to submit a particular 90-day report if you will be exiting Thailand during the 7 days in question.

Why on earth would you not file?

It is not a difficult task and you are free of any comeback

Don't you think I would probably have my reasons why I ask?

I appreciate very much the answers I received to my question.

Because he does not have to.

Information in the OP didn't include the fact that making the report was a problem for him, thus my response as he was worried about future repercussions

So much misinformation above, the grace period is ONLY for filing a 90 day report, NOT leaving within that period!

The OP should file his report before he departs, if he does not, and some eagle eyed IO spots it, then there will be a 2000 baht fine.

Yes, 7 day grace period

Totally incorrect

Yes he does.

Up to him though if he wants to risk a possible fine in future.

I have always believed that a 90-day report with a seven day grace period is not the same thing as a 96-day report. It seems illogical to me that you can stay over 90 days without making a report. However, it is quite clear that the authorities do not care about the missed report if you leave within the grace period. Thus, whether you ought, in theory, to make a report or not is academic. You can omit it.

Until they do care and people start getting 2k fines.
