In a shocking incident on the road, two cars were racing each other when a Mini Cooper collided with a school bus, resulting in injuries to 15 students. Simultaneously, the Porsche involved in the race crashed through the storefront.

The high-speed race between the cars escalated as they sped down the road. However, they lost control, colliding with each other and veering across lanes, crashing into the barricade separating the parallel lanes meant for student transportation. This caused several students to sustain minor injuries, luckily avoiding any life-threatening conditions. Eyewitnesses in the neighborhood reported that both drivers were racing at high speeds, with several residents observing the incident. The race came to an abrupt end with significant damage.

Yesterday (June 23)Chachoengsao City Police  received a report of a traffic accident involving two vehicles, one being a school bus, on Highway 304 in Chachoengsao. The accident occurred near the front of a convenience store, just before reaching the PTT gas station at Mile 10, Bang Phai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chachoengsao, reported Sanook.

At the scene, an Isuzu D-Max pickup truck, with a stainless steel frame covering the rear, was found overturned and lying sideways across the parallel lanes. The vehicle had the license plate number 7932 Chachoengsao. Additionally, a Mini Cooper, with the license plate number 7775 Bangkok, was parked diagonally in front, blocking both lanes of traffic, causing severe congestion, especially around the right side of the driver's door, where airbags were deployed.

Furthermore, another vehicle involved in the accident was a Porsche, with the license plate number 9933 Bangkok, which crashed into the interior of a store selling fertilizer and betel leaves. It entered through the glass door, and in the process, a red motorcycle with the license plate number 4769 Chachoengsao, parked in front, was also swept inside.

The injured individuals comprised a total of 15 people, including 13 students and one driver of the school bus, who drove a Mini Cooper. The majority of them sustained minor injuries, experiencing swelling and bruises throughout their bodies. Seven of the injured were immediately transported to Phutthasothorn Hospital.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the Mini Cooper was driven by Mr. Krissatham Meth, 29 years old, while the Porsche was driven by Mr. Anuchit, 54 years old. The school bus was driven by Miss Nichanan, 30 years old.

According to Mr. Sommai, 37 years old, the owner of the store selling betel leaves and fertilizer, he was having a meal at the front of his shop when the accident occurred. He was sitting at a table inside the shop, near the inner side. The car crashed into the betel leaves he was eating before colliding with the glass partition inside the store.

Following the incident, cries of injured students were heard, prompting immediate assistance from bystanders before attending to the students.

Good parking job with the Porsche, lined up perfectly.

Wait, what. That's the living room.

Never mind.

the familyname of the Porsche owner was witheld on TV .... Rich??? Expensive cars allow people to race??

Mr. Anuchit, aged 54 the Porche driver.

A rather unfortunate, if apt, name when rendered in English with a bit of imagination.

A case for jail time here, lets see if we ever get a follow up story.

Porche driver is 54 years old? Immature <deleted> for sure.

Racing? Yeh. That'll end well 555 555

IMO, and I could be wrong  "Them " in the " The horseless carriage is beyond the comprehension of many of them!" is a reference to Thais . In fact the reply asked me

"Who were racing the cars? " as an answer to who was "them"

Now you could say that when he said "Them" he meant kids., but then why not say kids instead of them?

Lunatics? Certainly! But definitely no just a Thai condition ,  in fact six days ago 3 teenagers were killed at a road-racing accident in Tennessee.

https://www.tennessean.com/story/news/local/2023/06/18/3-teens-killed-in-single-car-crash-fleeing-street-race-in-nashville-police-say/70334332007/

In another article:

"Illegal street racing has reportedly surged ever since Covid-19 hit the US in earnest last spring, with officials reporting increases in states such as Georgia, New York, New Mexico and Oregon, among others, officials said. and that these competitive motorists have killed several unsuspecting drivers.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/may/13/us-deadly-street-racing-surge-pandemic

I can go on and on, but the point is that this is not a Thai thing but something that some young people  do, all around the world.

Read the report!!!! it says they were.

After reading the article I still can't understand who won the race ????

The two idiot drivers should now be locked up for quite a number of years as well as paying very large amount of compensation, damage, medical, loss of income, inconvenience. and a a bit more for stupidity.

Isn't funny how you conveniently chose to ignore the rest of my reply which along with links proved you wrong?

Unfortunately your valid points are unlikely to cut any ice with those on here who hold each and every Thai person in sneeringly patronising contempt with their brazenly arrogant "Me Mr Ultra-Superior and 1,000,000%-Perfect Westerner" attitude, and who always deploy the same old "Off Topic" excuse whenever anyone has in their eyes the temerity to tar Westerners with the same negative brush as they gleefully do Thais.

in the case of driving it is quite easy to paint them with a brush. statistically they are among the worst drivers on planet earth. that is just a fact.

and to compare any of what happens on the roads here to back home or western countries is just plain silly.

i think most people are talking about the volume it happens here vs back in their own country.

a police officer from canada would have an aneurism here in 15 minutes of their first shift trying to stop the madness and disregard.

But this is a Thai post... what happens in the rest of the world is irrelevant.

At least the buffalo knows the way home, so the driver can drink or sleep.

But no racing bufs in Thailand

I respectfully disagree.

No mention of testing both drivers for alcohol ,drugs , no mention

of what the police had to say , another half story with lots of license

plate numbers for lottery buyers .....most important.
