Certificate of Residence in Pattaya immigration, bank question

Recommended Posts

I try to get Certificate of Residence in Pattaya immigration but they ask me for a reason for the Certificate, and i write down to open a bank and and buy a bike but they ask me what bank, i told them
i have not made up my mind so they told me to come back when i know. Is this a normal thing for them to do? What happens if i just write buy bike and after i get the Certificate i will try open a bank  or do they write on the Certificate what bank is allowed to open for me, i don't get it? Any tips what i can write on the reason section on the paper?

The certificate of residence does not state the reason.

Why didn't you just tell them  name of a bank or say TDL.

What type of visa did you enter Thailand.

I did not know what bank I want. What is TDL. I have student visa.

They may note on the certificate the bank to practically guarantee they open it. Good to have.

Okay well I have to check the bank I want, I guess the easiest one to open, maybe scb?

I got the stroppy lady at CW when I applied for CoA for banking reason, cannot do bank only car and motocy, OK cross out Bank mark TDL, so all good untill she gets to address where I had entered the address I have used for 12 years TM7 TM47. She pushes application form back to me indicating I must correct the address,I check all good pass it back,no good

.The only person who had access to my address is landlord's TM30 report, phoned landlord who then spoke with the IO who added 4 items to my address now all finished.

Seems that you were not fully prepared.

I attended CW 3 weeks ago with appointment for 90 day report.

The same io made photocopy of TM47 and processed my certificate of residence.

Brilliant service.

No TM30 required.

TM47 is a must.

Fact is you had an issue at CW with a most simple process.

All we get on ASEAN Now is posters side of things.

Immigration officers don't get right of reply.

Clearly your paperwork was not complete.

You stated ...."the IO who added 4 items to my address now all finished."

Why should io need to fill in basic form for people.

You started a thread re COR at CW.

Some time ago.

In that thread ubonjoe posted link to form that is CW specific...

Here it is .

https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=439173

The form does not have "open bank account" option

I assume you are buying a motorbike. You need a COR at DLT for name transfer.

To open a bank account you will need another one.

Try you luck, ask a few branches, if you're lucky you may not need a COR to open an account. In Dec last year SCB at Lotus Thepprasit/Suk told me  retirement visa and driver's license will do.

Time waster. I tried 3 banks all needed COR. Glad you got lucky though.

You mean Thai Immigration give specific order to the bank telling/instructin the bank they have to open an account for you?

Maybe you could also ask Immigration to give you a written order to presnet at a restauant ordering the restaurant to give you medium rare steaks.

And ...

Yes I was thinking the exact same thing. This is just a young kid, recently leaving home for the first time... So be nice to him.
