snoop1130 Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 It’s that time of year again, as the monsoon rains made themselves felt overnight and into this morning, across Phuket. Provincial officials have issued flood warnings for several areas across the island as a result of the Saturday night/Sunday morning heavy rainfall. The Phuket News reports that parts of Phuket Town were totally impassable on Sunday morning, with several streets closed off. According to the report, the water level in the Bang Yai canal, which runs through Phuket Town and is the main conduit for draining rainwater into the sea, was dangerously high for a few hours yesterday morning. The area around the provincial government building on Tha Kraeng Road was flooded, as was the road’s intersection with Chao Fa East Road. In Chalong, local residents reported that a number of streets were flooded, although the main roads were passable throughout the rain storm.
