A Thai woman on a motorbike was knocked over by another motorcyclist that suddenly made a turn to enter an alley. Subsequently, she was fatally run over by a passing pickup truck.

The victim was identified as Ms. Noppamas Itsomboon, 22. On Monday, July 17th, at 10:30 PM, the rescuers were called to rescue her after she got into a road accident with Mr. Sakorn Wongwitong, a 19-year-old rider of a blue Honda Wave 110 motorbike, and Mr. Kittisak Thongrat, a 25-year-old rider of an Isuzu D-Max pickup truck.

According to Mr. Sakorn, who was not injured, Ms. Noppamas was riding her blue Honda Wave motorbike behind him in the Nongprue sub-district of Banglamung district, Chonburi province. As he reached Soi Pornprapanimit 18, which was his destination, he made a turn to enter the Soi just when Ms. Noppamas accelerated her bike in a bid to overtake him.

They do that a lot here. I could be indicating to turn right, on the right side of the lane, and an idiot tries to pass me at hight speed on the right as I'm getting ready to turn. The idiot here surely turned left into the poor girl's path.

I don't think they notice indicators, I followed someone several KM on Sukhumvit yesterday that had one on continuously. When I am on my bike it is indicator and an arm stuck out and plenty of looking behind for right turns, I have been known to go to the left side sometimes and wait.. better than a pause in the middle of the road.... what else can you do?

I don't rely on indicators either. I check to see if someone is trying to pass me on the right (if I'm turning right) and I also use a lot of hand gestures. To be safe you have to look both ways when turning right.

In this accident Mr Sakorn is trying his best to explain it's not his fault. Sadly the victim won't be able to testify.
