A scammer posing as the landlord attempted to collect rent from an employee at the cannabis shop in Pattaya but was foiled when the shop owner contacted his staff. The thief ran away without getting any money.

Today, on July 21st, Mr. Rattanakorn Chobsalang, a 23-year-old employee at the Sativa cannabis shop located on Pattaya Second Road, revealed to the Thai media a strange incident where a mysterious man entered the shop around 5:30 P.M. on July 19th and attempted to deceive him into handing over 25,730 baht under the pretense of it being for rent.

Rattanakorn described the man as being middle-aged, about 40-50 years old, wearing a long-sleeved plaid shirt, long trousers, and a mask covering his face. The man entered the Sativa shop in the evening of July 19th, saying to Rattanakorn that he came to collect rent.

Maybe he thought they would be stoned and hand over the money, easily intimidated.

Sounds like this clowns done this before.....

I strongly suspect this wasn't the first time he's done this. Having a fake conversation with the owner on the telephone, and the employee actually preparing the cash to hand over suggests he is a con man of some experience.
