Ford Thailand showcases Ranger Raptor’s potential in thrilling off-road media event

In a recent initiative called the Ford Ranger Raptor Unbeatable Experience, Ford Thailand championed the capabilities of its leading 1-tonne pickup truck, the Ford Ranger Raptor. The experiential event allowed the Thai media to get a first-hand taste of the vehicle’s off-road and cross-country prowess.

An impressive fleet composed of the 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel and 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo petrol models were commandeered through a series of off-road and cross-country stations. These were set up at the Ford Ranger Off-Road Track in Phanat Nikhom district in the eastern Chon Buri province.

Earlier in the year, a review of the Raptor V6 left no doubts about its performance calibre, though the substantial price tag was also evident. In contrast, the Raptor 2.0-litre, a more economically and environmentally friendly variant, was driven for the first time, albeit briefly, preventing a comprehensive review.

Both Ranger Raptor variants come well-equipped, with numerous advanced digital drive systems that enhance the off-road driving experience. The 2.0-litre engine boasts a powerful 210 horsepower and a remarkable 500 nanometres of torque, while the 3.0-litre V6 engine stacks up 397 horsepower and 583 nanometres of torque.

you wouldn't expect less from a truck twice the price of the competitors.

With twice the consumption and a level of difficulty in parking in a crowded shopping centre akin to that of berthing an aircraft carrier whilst blindfolded

Yes but consider what they can do to your ego, sitting up there above all the peasants in something even bigger than they can afford, pompously trying to get the leviathan round the streets. Why, in such an imposing and 'designed by cartoonists' road destroyer, they are certain they are King of the Road.

An ideal vehicle for the feeble minded.

What dribble! First 1 ton Pickups in Thailand are basically the same dimension width and length with high changed by suspension etc. If you are concerned about tearing up the roads don't look at pickups look at ev's as their weight "battery" not only destroys the roads but also destroys any car it hits due to its weight. Weight/speed!!!! All a raptor is, is a Wildtrack with factory off road add ons.

Parking is pretty easy with all the cameras in modern pick ups. The biggest problem if you ask me is finding a space wide enough that allows you to open the doors. The Tesco lotus in my city has very narrow parking spaces in the undercover parking, but a more suitable size outside. Makro has better sized spaces. Stupidly, Thai Watsadu has the narrowest spaces. Its a good job no one ever really shops there, so the carpark is mostly empty.

Yes.  About 11cm wider than a regular Ranger, although I see a lot of Raptors with extra wide tyres extending beyond the body.

All this off road garbage is rarely ever done in real life. Let's see some proper off road stuff with a tonne of rice in the back and plenty of muddy potholed cart tracks to negotiate.

Since when has a nanometer been a measurement of torque?

Just another pathetic article with basic errors in it. They are the norm these days, pretty much every single article posted here will have such a fundamental error in it.

I am sure someone saw Nm, Googled "nm" and got nanometre and had no idea what the difference was. Very very poor indeed.

If you have a small penis, get in line to buy one. It will solve your problem. Or at least you will think so.

Got to be better than riding a Honda Wave.
