Climate change: July set to be world's warmest month on record

Your argument was to attack the messenger, ie the media outlet. Its also mentioned here:

Paris fumigates for tiger mosquitoes as pest spreads in Europe

Health experts say it has thrived on the continent in part because of climate change, with warmer weather shortening the incubation period for its eggs while winters are no longer cold enough to kill off the pests.

Is the writer of this outlet also pretending?

The writer is (apparently) a freelance jounalist that writes stories for a living. He is neither a health expert, not a climate change expert.6028583_AdamPlowright.thumb.jpg.7c0ff8ede64ee000686e5ec8e0be60e8.jpg

The facts debunk this report as false... the 1930's were far hotter... the 1970's were far cooler...

You should take your case to NASA, they disagree, but then they have science behind them.       https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/world-of-change/global-temperatures

  • How dare you say such things, don’t you know it will incite hysterical hissy fits of the greenywokiet@rdzies where the belief of solar cycles have no place in that reality and where only skewed politi

What that got to do with the health experts he was referring to?

I don't know for a fact that it was nor do you know for a fact that it wasn't. Which runs counter to this:

"And NOW it's fine for non-climate scientists to comment on climate change?"

Brian's article said "health experts" and said nothing of climate scientists. Try to follow along.

Do you have any doubts that warming climate allows some pests to move northwards?

Can't you just admit that without engaging in your usual foodfight about credentials?

I don't doubt for a moment that warming allows some pests to move northwards, nor did I say or imply anything contrary to that.

I don't know if the article is true or not, but I do know that only a fool would consider it proof of anything. It amuses that that you guys all assume everything you read that reinforces your ideology is a fact.

Well, you just admitted that the issue is broader than just the science as you mentioned the policies which are being put into place.  And you deceptively allude to "the science is settled" as you cite " . . . because of the science behind them."

You can debate and play semantics all you want.

What you can't dispute is that the Global Warming hypothesis is the best explanation for the current warming and the Stratospheric cooling.

So, your ideology includes the reality that the planet is warming.

Despite predictions from Deniers that we would be having cooling.

So, if the planet is warming, why is the Stratosphere cooling?

Who cares?

Climategate.  Nothing to see there, right?   Science can goal seek anything they want.  I don't trust them on climate change and Covid certainly supports the legitimacy of my distrust.

As I posted earlier The Times which published the original so-called expose had to make a retraction. And since then the ,"hockey stick" has been confirmed multiple times by different methods. That you still believe in this so-called scandal just shows the dodgy sources you get your information from.

Because of the Sun.

how is the Sun cooling the Stratosphere?

Does the Sun emanate air conditioning rays?

2 minutes ago, Yellowtail said:

Because of the Sun.

or, are you saying that the Sun is causing Global Warming?

As solar activity is in a lowered state, that would be a really stupid answer.

The article isn't making any claims, its saying:

"disease-carrying tiger mosquitoes whose rapid advance through northern Europe is thought to have been accelerated by climate change."

Thinking the Earth could warm without the Sun is stupider.

So even the writer knew it may not have been accelerated by climate change, but no doubt the climate angle helps sell their work.

In any event, the statement at least implies that the "disease-carrying tiger mosquitoes..." would be advancing through northern Europe even without climate change, albeit at a slower pace. yes?

You are not answering why the Earth is warming.

The Sun is a constant factor.

So, why is the Stratosphere warming?

I hope it warms up soon like the mass media says so I can move to Scandinavia and give up these stupid Thai immigration regulations.

Without manmade pollutants in the atmosphere, the natural cooling trend would preclude tropical insects from heading north.

Selling the work? Reporting on facts of what's happening in Paris? Quoting health experts that confirm

"Health experts say it has thrived on the continent in part because of climate change, with warmer weather shortening the incubation period for its eggs while winters are no longer cold enough to kill off the pests."

Where do you get it would happen anyway albeit at a slower pace?

The Earth is warming for a number of reasons, including human activity, do you believe otherwise?

Solar activity is not constant. Do you even understand what constant means?

I don't believe it is. Do you have anything that supports this?

Solar activity is relatively constant. Over the last 40 years, solar output has not contributed to the additional warming of the Troposphere

Oops, the Stratosphere is cooling. Why is that?

So, if a meteor were detected hurtling towards Earth, you would disregard the warnings.

Well, seeing as I don't own a person spacecraft then why heed the warnings?  Besides, even if I did where would I fly to?

What a ridiculous analogy.

This year was no hotter than any others.

How do you know? Its just Sept.....lol

Combined with the El Niño, 2023 is now more likely than not to be the warmest year on record. The sea has also hit record temperatures and already broken records despite not being the end of the year yet.
