The Pheu Thai Party has postponed its press conference to announce a new Pheu Thai-led coalition this afternoon.

This decision comes after the PM voting has been rescheduled to take place after August 16.

Pheu Thai Deputy leader, Phumtham Wechayachai, stated that the press conference on the new coalition will likely occur around the next PM voting date.

Curiouser and curiouser…

The court moves very very quickly in some instances and very very slowly in others.

After MF has reformed 112 and the military, the courts will be next on the list

Let's hope so.

So Pita lives to see another day (in about 2 weeks) , guess that was major shock for a few people.

So at the moment all the horse trading and jockey changes has been a futile pursuit and many a red face for some.

Will we now see a lot of backtraking and pleading for forgiveness. - - we didn't really mean it - we had your back etc.

Effectively kicking down the road again allowing more time for behind the scene bargaining so as to fit the old square pegs into round holes again.

no matter what bargaining goes on the junta parties are well out numbered

How come?

The "Junta Parties", as you call them. will always have the support of the "Senate" mob!

Only for a short period - luckily.....

that's on the target list for a cleanout too and the list is long, once they have a pt pm in place there is no way to stop it, if you think somehow pt and mfp have parted ways - you need to think again

You are claiming that the Senate is "on the target list for a cleanout"!

Who by, how and when?

I hope you're right but Thaksin runs PT and he's shown before that he doesn't care who he sides with to get his own way.

the non junta parties have a huge majority, once they get in there they can do what they want and don't for a second think that mfp and pt are no longer partners - this is all a game - once they form a government the only thing that can stop them is a coup

Apologies if I'm the 35th person to already mention this..........but noticed earlier an opinion given by Khaosod's Pravit (well-known journalist whose exact surname & spelling thereof escapes me right now) that the deferment allows Prayuth to control the imminent military reshuffle*.

If true....and Pravit's opinion carries weight with me (mostly).....then proof if it was ever needed that multi**-institutional collusion is at play here, almost without them even pretending to hide it. Brute 'f***-off' power doesn't even need to make an effort. How about that? Wow.....these guys really know more tricks than a cartload of monkeys.

*reshuffle.....a word that so sadly summarizes the current, inevitable & unsatisfactory outcome of the election, with a striking 'different day, same old s**t', or 'old wine in new bottles' vibe to it. Same pack of old, worn cards, just re-ordered to jazz it up.  Thai politics in a single word.

**not sure that's the correct way to put it, as they all seem to essentially work together 'as one', so to speak.

As I said I hope you're right, but wouldn't a coup be less likely if PT steered clear of MFP?

This seems both unconstitutional and immoral. Who was elected? Why was he elected? The people want to see change, progress and reform. They have been denied.

Let us hope some sort of justice prevails.

Come on Mike you know it has been decided before the so called election
