The Pheu Thai Party will collaborate with the Bhumjaithai Party in an effort to form a government together.

Currently, they have a total of 212 MPs. The designated Prime Ministerial candidate will come from the Pheu Thai Party.

However, the two parties have not yet revealed the identities of the other political parties that will join the new Pheu Thai-led coalition.

Joint-statement (cont.): We’re inviting the opposition to work with us. If they have draft bills that will help the country, we’ll support it. (…) Our principles are: 1) People and country are the core. To boost economy and democracy, brining back reconciliation and propensity.

Joint-statement (cont.): 2) The quickly fix the constitution in the first cabinet meeting (of the new govt) to hold a referendum on a new constitution and a new drafting committee. 3) Constructive political work together. 4) Transparent govt. 5) MPs, Senators involved in PM vote

[Update] Chonlanan Srikaew, the leader of Pheu Thai, said the new coalition will not include the Palang Pracharath Party and the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party.

Chonlanan said the two parties plan to collaborate by extending invitations to other political entities to join the coalition. They aim to gather support and secure votes from all parties and senators in favor of their PM Candidate.

The two parties have come to an agreement to advocate for the revision of the constitution through the establishment of an elected charter drafting committee, he said.

Anutin Charnvirakul, the leader of Bhumjaithai, emphasized that the two parties do not support the formation of a minority government.

That will probably the barest of the bare minimum to have some semblance of feeble steps towards democracy. Ostracize the military parties and have only political parties in the coalition. Will placate some anger from supporters. Pheu Thai Party will probably grow in size with defections from PPRP. MFP need to consider their role in the voting process as they too want to keep the military parties out of the next government and even if they not in the new coalition. Revision of the constitution must be the focus with 1997 people constitution as the blueprint.

Well, good luck with that.

Can't wait for the next election, which may be closer than currently scheduled. That's when the Thai people will show what they're made of, one way or the other.

Quite a clever move. Pheu Thai telling MFP that even though they are not in a coalition they are free to vote for the Government in Parliament (including for the PM candidate). Voting against will harm the Government and will damage the economy, Pheu Thai could argue.

Military not welcome so Pheu Thai appeasing their base.

Still a tough call to get past the Senate but we wiil see next week.

The new coalition needs to be commended for their efforts.

Most Thais will be condemning them for a stitch up of Mpve Forward.

The electorate will not forget. If there is ever another election , and if there is another reincarnation of MF then PT will take a beating.
