2.5 hours for the whole process...

Does that start with arrest when he sets foot on Thai soil and immediate long-term detention.... or.....

PLease publish the full detail of the process which will take 2.5 hours. The public is entitled to know.

Why should there be any special arrangements? He's a convicted criminal, sentenced to 12 years in jail and never served even 1 minute.

to count the money of course.. small bills to prevent that they can be traced ????

There will be certain individuals who will be extremely concerned over his return as they are the ones who plotted his downfall and made his sisters tenure so problematic. Assurances will be sought for their safety as well as for Khun Thaksins. They blighted him and his family and wrongs will need to be made right.

It will be interesting to see which rats run for cover.

An excellent summation may I say Jack.

he was found guilty in his absence.....he is entitled to be tried again in person. Arrest warrants are issued for people who are fleeing or whose whereabouts is unknown.........he is returning and they know where he is.

It speaks volumes that when the Thai authorities asked other Police forces to arrest him and return him they declined as they also opined the charges against him were unproven & mostly trumped up.

When Thaksin bought a top English team (Think Manchester City) in a big show of publicity the then elected British government refused to have him arrested.

Why??

Purely on the grounds that an elected politician had been deposed/removed in an illegal military coup no if's no but's.   No elected politician in a democracy would put his name to any order that delivered a politician to a Military Jaunta on charges that arose after their takeover.

For their own reasons the English FA declared that Thaksin were not a fit and proper person to run a football club under their auspices, quite amazing on the bankrupt, convicted druggies and wifebeaters that are considered fit.  Thaksin sold up.

Satarical magazine 'Private Eye' did a comparison between Thaksin and the Red Bull heir 'Crimes'. Guess for who a bona fide arrest request where never made by the Jaunta, to the UK government??

Collect him in prison van as he steps off the plane and transport him directly to the appropriate jail, can't see what all the drama is about.  If they're stuck, I could spare 10 minutes to organise how to get him off the plane into the prison wagon and drive out of the airport, they should be able to handle the rest of the journey by themselves.

Have they got enough vans to cover all of Thailand's airports?

He could easily apply for bail and not do prison time until his next hearing.

Not too sure what needs coordinating.

he should be arrested upon arrival on tarmac and taken straight to prepared luxury private cell. His lawyers should already have all the paperwork ready for royal pardon and submitted on the day of arrival.

easy as 123 call????

And paperwork for immediate bail. They seem to want to make a huge show, all it needs is a limo for him and 4 outrider motorbikes, as they do in the UK for arriving Dignitaries :giggle:

Of course you know all the details and have all the evidence to the crimes they say he committed. Why wouldn't any other government in the countries he stayed enforce the Thai warrants for his arrest? 80% of the Thai population voted for him and he helped those less fortunate, If not for his business dealings, True would still be a second-rate TV station, why was he opposed? because he wanted to implement the same as pita and the MFP and look what happened to him.

What has that long rant got to do with the discussion from the police chief and Thaksin's returning to Thailand, nothing!

Taksin caused his own downfall .... why did he run for cover he is a convicted criminal and like any other person should go to jail on arrival.

You missed mention of the upraw when it was announced he was in the process of buying the f'ball club. Many politicians / senior respected people instantly commented 'we don't want such unsavoury folks owning anything in the UK!' And many agreed.

Now you have many unsavory people owning clubs in England. A lot worse than Thaksin.

It’s all about money.

Thaksin’s purchase, and sale of Man City has led to them becoming the most successful team in Europe.

A hard pill to swallow for the bitter obsessives.

He can not get bail as he has already been sentenced but royal pardon second round coming up in a few months.

but naturally will need an escort and road closure ????

I would love to see Thaksin arrive in his private jet at another of the International  airports near his private residence and take a fast convoy home. Would be a very entertaining scenario that would take a long time for the officials to resolve.

Kind of like the OJ Simpson chase scene,  ha ha ha ha

Again,you're arguing with yourself.

I didn't suggest / nobody is suggesting the current PM and his cronies and the appointed/rigged senate is legitimate, ethical, clean, without corruption.

IT'S NOT.

Please, enough.

So why do you keep bleating about Thaksin?
