POLL: Most Americans want Trump found guilty !

Looking forward to seeing what happens, but without a knowledgeable opinion myself. Being a former President, and with the leniency shown to Trump to date (no handcuffs, chains or other treatment usually given to offenders), would he be imprisoned or given a suspended sentence? I have seen presidents jailed in those infamous "sh*thole countries" he denigrates but not the USA - to date.

Any legal beagles want to give an informed opinion?

At the Federal level maybe----maybe---he could avoid jail if convicted, but in Georgia, conviction = mandatory jail. 5 years minimum for RICO convictions.

One of the US' major democratic allies---South Korea---has jailed 3 former leaders for crimes. Certainly the US can do the same if/when trump is found guilty.

Actually, the infrastructure plan wasn't bipartisan at all. Which makes its passage under Biden even more impressive. Biden understands how to negotiate and drew on his long experience to do that.

Obviously, the GOP's only raison d'être is to hold power.

Their duplicity shows their disdain for their constituents.

They opposed the infrastructure law

'Now, some in the GOP court its cash. Republicans have cheered the arrival of new federal money to improve local roads, bridges, pipes, ports and internet connections, nearly two years after voting against those very investments'.

We can go back to Obama's time in office. After the midterm election, in 2014, the Republicans pushed for austerity in the wake of the greatest financial disaster since the Great Depression. You know, the Herbert Hoover approach. The results were predictable. Recovery was slowed immensely.

Naaa it’s healing on the March and here’s a thought the op states most Americans want trump found guilty that’s a bit misleading in my opinion it should be most Americans think trump is guilty.and that sir is just by the obvious in your face in the public domain evidence seen so far not to mention what comes out of that man’s mouth on a daily basis my biggest gripe personally is the utter abject cowardice shown by the Republican Party and it’s taking to long to jail that traitor

A T____ victory next year would be the end of the GOP.  The biggest priority for a first-term US pres is re-election.  If he gets back in it will all be out in the open with paleo-conservatism and fundamentalist christianity.  Comparing it to Germany in the 1930s his second inauguration will be the night of the long knives.   The members of SCOTUS who are currently close to some sort of punishment for their corruption will emerge as the heroes of the new order.
