A wave of concern has swept across social media in Pattaya, sparked by a woman’s invitation to an erotic show at a local nightclub.

The woman, known only as Kat, shared a post on her personal Facebook page, encouraging people to attend her risqué performance with a male partner at the NEW SEASON 88 nightclub. Alongside her call to action, she posted a video clip from a previous show that has since stirred controversy.

In the contentious video, Kat is seen clad in a bikini, while her male partner is in his underwear, both engaging in suggestive behaviour. Despite the provocative nature of the clip, it is worth noting that there was no explicit nudity or sexual actions present. The nightclub in question, situated on Pattaya Third Road in North Pattaya, is strictly for patrons over the age of twenty.

ooooh, what will the maoist ambassador think....and the wealthy "families' that come to Pattaya of course......People, how hypocritical can you get? 30 odd years ago

there were plenty of shows that "put up" the act ,  in Patpong and even in sleepy Chiang Mai which was more of a hilltribe village then. And my applause to the actors that managed to keep up the act in front of all the drinkers, hooters and cat whistlers. My then wife and I enjoyed it very much as many foreign and Thai couples did. And oooh! Pole dancing  did not involve Bikini tops by law. I suppose that whoever did not like it did not stay or looked the other way. I never heard anyone mouthing it off re. un-Thai, pornographic, disgusting......they simply ignored it. Fair enough. Then again Thailand was an atmospherically much freer country strangely enough 30 years ago, as was Europe by the way, there was no social media for the ever growing permanent complainers and opinionated and frustrated crew and the regular military coups to show the country the right way were more politically and pecuniarily concerned than telling ordinary people what to see, do, wear or think. And yes, Thermae still existed. Aaaah! Nostalgia.

Yeah....

Porn is illegal in Thailand, still porn hub is one of the most viewed website in Thailand...

Prostitution is illegal in Thailand, still it's famous for being a sex paradise, and only about 10% of the sex workers being aimed at tourists...

Sex toys are illegal in Thailand, still many Muslim tourists stock up on sex toys in Thailand as they can't buy them in their home countries...

Is it "A wave of concern" or is it "outrage". I would say it's neither and probably a click bait headline. It's Pattaya and while I have never been there I would expect nothing less if I went and didn't find such a venue in a place like this.

If you want outrage go to a Western pride event where you will find all sorts of deviance done by adults in front of children or the fact the US is largest human trafficking country in the world facilitated by its own government.

Way off base about the USA and 100 percent wrong.

I was at an open air show on temple grounds with live bands, which included prancing pretties and a couple of wild male dancers. To say some of the movements and positions were sexual may be an understatement. I felt embarrassed, but it seemed designed to whip people into a frenzy and maybe shock. My Mrs was disturbed this was occurring on temple grounds. The headliner act was more sedate and enjoyable, I might have left earlier but we had paid to get in.

I’ve seen that kind of dancing at parties in wats in our village (northern Thailand, “the sticks”).

No nudity, but scantily clad young ladies dancing on the podium as well. My girlfriend calls such ladies “coyotes”.

And many young children present as well (cause there’s also children toys at the temple at such events, such as inflatable sliders.

I wonder what the social media reaction would be to a video of a good old fashioned darts hitting balloons show.

I've visited the infamous "Windmill" bar ( Soi Diamond Pattaya ) on a couple occasions and let me tell you that the goings on in there would make a porn star blush.Right in your face, so to say. The place was packed if I recall.Haven't been in years . jing jing

If i remember correctly back in the 80', they used to have a full sex shows in some bars in BKk (or was it in Angeles city) where a young local man and a women would engage in a full, real sex act, not a mock up, lasted for some time before it was taken down, so again, nothing new under the sun.

Patpong, on a motorbike. Long time ago.

I remember they had these types of shows in the 1970’s and I believe early 1980’s in NYC.

But in this particular case it isn’t clear what was done.

Yes, me too. NYC and at that time Time Square used to be fun before Giuliani, and for that matter in the same time period, San Francisco's North Beach before Feinstein.

These are the moralistic bad new days of outrage by fundamentalist extremists, unfortunate to see that intolerant overreach spill over into Thailand.
