4 Thai men remain at large after raping 16 year old girl

A 14 year old girl and her mother are seeking justice after four men involved in the rape of the teenager remain at large despite the brutal incident taking place in April in northern Thailand. Huay Talang Police Station officers have been accused of ignoring the case, while the girl’s school has been charged with hiding the truth from the public.

 

The victim and her mother urged a Facebook page to spread her story in the public domain as the case has not progressed in nearly four months. The victim reportedly attempted to take her own life after the ordeal left her traumatised.

 

The Facebook page revealed that the sexual assault occurred at the house of one rapist in the Isaan province of Nakhon Ratchasima on April 28. The suspects were friends of the victim’s boyfriend, who lived near her house.

 

The Facebook page emphasised that the suspects still lived their normal lives and hung out together near the victim’s house without feeling any guilt. The page added that the older sister of one suspect even threatened to sue the victim for defaming her brother while she revealed the rape to the victim’s classmates.

 

The page accused the school director of trying to conceal the truth from the public to maintain the school’s reputation and pressuring the girl not to reveal the issue to the media.

 

The page stated that the victim and her mother had already moved out of the community and school due to the shame and embarrassment. The page demanded that the relevant departments provide justice to the victim.

very hard to prove rape or sexual assault months after 

 

no forensic evidence so it ends up her word against theirs

 

this is a very unfortunate incident and a failure by police to act swiftly

 

i really feel for this young girl but unless one of the boys confesses there is little the police can do

The headline says the raping of a 16 y/o, then the story mentions a 14 y/o, is the victim 14 or 16?

Presumably the police have a record of the first report. Their negligence alone is worth punishment. The perpetrators must have boasted of their act, so there are witness who can testify.

Those neck of the woods parts of Thailand are pretty much a lawless areas where suspects can disappear without trace for months and years even crossing the borders, being a huge area to cover for a spotty police stations placement making it even harder to mete out justice.

Thai, as always?   You really think that the rest of the worlds news outlets never get it wrong?

Anyone who reads the news articles often published on here is very familiar with the absence of information, inaccuracies and flaws in the reporting... 

 

Contrary to your implication, that doesn't mean it was suggested that flaws do not exist elsewhere, just that 'as always' the Thai news gets it wrong again...

When did I say that? Now you are having this vivid imagination, and reading that invisible thing between the lines again.

I wrote Thai as I live in Thailand and I read the Thai news. Do you see anything strange with that as well, Sir?
