Involvement in "Boss" Case Accusations denied

"Senator Krong" confirms that there's no involvement in any wrongdoing after the NACC committee passed a resolution indicating suspicion of tampering with primary evidence in the case of the speeding car incident involving "Boss Yoovidhya," resulting in the order not to prosecute.

 

He's ready to explain if called to testify, making it clear that it will not affect his current duties, reported Thai Rath.

 

The committee implicated various individuals in the alteration of witness evidence regarding the speed of the car in the infamous case involving "Boss Yoovidhya."

 

Yesterday, on September 5th, the NACC pinpointed individuals allegedly involved in overturning a decision not to prosecute Mr. Vorayuth Yoovidhya, also known as "Boss", in a vehicular collision that resulted in the death of a Thong Lor police officer in 2012. The alleged interference involves the manipulation of evidence about the car's speed.

However, he emphasized his lack of involvement in any wrongdoings as indicated by the NACC. He has previously clarified that he neither assisted nor endorsed any unlawful actions in this case. "Senator Krong" expressed readiness to provide explanations should he be summoned by the prosecutor.

 

It was also stressed that the recent allegations would not impact his current position, noting that at the time of the said allegations, he held no official position.

It's very well known that Vorayuth Yoovidhya' family paid an extraordinary amount of money to shut the case down....this is just a small diversion in preparation of the homecoming.

There is bad journalism and then there is this - that's not the Governor of Chiang Mai, that's the head of of the Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization and it actually says that in the Thairath article that is linked in the story.

Red Bull heir’s hit-and-run case mishandled by 15 top Thai officials, says NACC

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) declared 15 high-ranking police officials and prosecutors culpable for mismanaging the infamous 2012 hit-and-run case connected to the Red Bull heir.

 

Among the implicated are prominent figures including Somyot  Poompanmoung, the former national police chief, and Nate Naksuk, the previous deputy attorney-general who had dismissed the residual charges against him, according to NACC spokesperson Niwatchai Kasemmongkol.

 

Newly appointed education minister and former assistant national police chief Permpoon Chidchob, who officially sanctioned Nate’s decision in June 2020, was also named in the NACC’s Red Bull heir report. Niwatchai described Permpoon’s endorsement as a disciplinary violation, albeit not a grave one.

 

The incident in question occurred on September 3, 2012, when Vorayuth Boss Yoovidhya, who was 27 years old at the time, hit a motorcycle ridden by Wichian Klanprasert, a senior sergeant major from the Thonglor Police Station, with his Ferrari. Vorayuth then fled the scene, dragging the victim’s body approximately 200 metres without notifying the police.

15 people helped Red Bull heir evade justice – Thailand’s NACC

The secretary-general of Thailand’s National Counter-Corruption Commission says a total of 15 people helped Vorayuth “Boss” Yoovidhya evade justice after a fatal hit-and-run incident in 2012.

 

According to a Nation Thailand report, Niwatchai Kasemmongkol says the anti-graft body has identified 15 people, including senior officials and policemen, who helped Boss avoid justice. Senior police officer Wichian Klanprasert was killed in 2012 after the motorbike he was riding was struck by Vorayuth’s speeding Ferrari in Bangkok. Boss then kept driving at high speed, dragging the policeman’s body another 200 metres along Sukhumvit Road.

Niwatchai says that at a meeting held on Tuesday, September 5, a commission committee agreed to accuse the unnamed 15 people, saying evidence had been tampered with in relation to the speed at which Boss was driving at the time his vehicle collided with Wichian’s bike.

 

No details have been provided as to who the 15 accused are, with Niwatchai saying he needs to wait for the official report before commenting further.

So the issue for the new Government of Hopefuls is to pursue the matter with great energy, changing the relevant time-limiting laws as necessary so that Boss and the others can receive the justice they all yearn for.

I think the boss fly in  golf stream jet go for lunch with the cops to pick them up at the airport go to jail. Wait an hour to tell them that he doesn’t feel good. He’s stressed out maybe stomach hurts he can’t breathe and have them fly him to the hospital and a helicopter and a private suite, then ask the politicians to file a pardon for him then he’d be all set. National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has found 15 individuals, including former national police chief Somyot Poompanmuang and former deputy attorney-general Nate Naksuk, guilty of involvement in changing the speed of the car driven by Red Bull heir Vorayuth Yoovidhya, to help him avoid speeding charges in the infamous hit-and-run incident in 2012.

 

NACC Secretary-General Niwatchai Kasemmongkol told the media on Wednesday that they had reached a ruling, adding that the anti-graft watchdog’s ruling is not final and all the accused have the right to prove their innocence in court.

 

Vorayuth was originally accused of driving his Ferrari at over 100kph when he crashed into a motorcycle, being ridden by a police officer, Pol Snr Sgt Maj Wichian Klanprasert, on Sukhumvit Road in September 2012, killing him at the scene. Vorayuth was initially charged with speeding, but the car’s speed was eventually altered to under 80kph, so the speeding charge, which carries a higher penalty, was dropped.

It's not the governor of Chiang Mai - its Pichai Lertpongadisorn, President of Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization and Chairman of Chiang Mai United FC.

Any expert outside of Thailand can take the footage from that night of Sukhumvit. Pick it up origination then distance to next camera pickup do the math will know the speed it was traveling. 

Take for example in Pattaya if traveling on Sukhumvit from intersection of Theppasit to Pattaya Tai once light change to green you need to travel 120 km/h to make the green at Tai. 

Why all the confusion as to whether he was traveling 80-120, experts can measure the vehicle damage, damage to the motorbike. Distant bike travel after impact the forensic evidence is there.  What ever his involvemen if he turn a blind eye to evidences suggesting take him out to the shed have him dig a hole put a bullet in his head and call it a day.

From checking around a bit, that indeed appears to be the case...

 

The new corruption allegations in the Red Bull case apparently involve,  among others, a guy by the name of Pichai Lertpong-adisorn, the currently elected CM PAO chief whose candidacy back in 2020 was endorsed by Thaksin.

 

The Bangkok Post reported that Lertpong-adisorn's prior alleged role in the Red Bull case involved him producing a new (bogus?) witness in the hit-and-run case that helped result in the dropping of criminal charges.

 

The current governor of Chiang Mai, who has no involvement in any of this, is Nirat Pongsitthaworn.

I guess it's hard to appy for a royal pardon when you are still running from the law.

However, in light of a recent case, it seems one just needs to come back, spend a day in jail, move to a private hospital suite and then apply.

Funny how Interpol just can't seem to find this guy though !
