Putting Land for Sale sign up

Featured Replies

Who normally puts these signs up? Who or where would I go to. A general handyman, real estate agent?

A sign/banner printing store????

When the Mrs & I sold a patch of land, we did the advertising ourselves; online sites, hand made posters put up on the land & around the area (in English & Thai) and word of mouth.  In the end, it was the signs we posted that got the most inquiries that led to the sale.

Poster boards from Mr DIY, some waterproof markers & inexpensive wire and you're good to go.

Agree, son did the same when he decided to sell a double big size townhouse in Chonburi city. Five bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, big western style kitchen area, all roome fully furnished, undercover parking for 2 cars.

Several other houses had very small FOR SALE signs on their gates (about 20cm X 10 cm), some had trees / shrubs etc overgrown and hiding the signs. Some been there for years.

Son went one better, he took about 10 interior photos, but them on a Powerpoint slide with key words in Thai and in English including the price son was asking. He has the sign permanently printed on plastic canvas and bought stuff to make a simple frame, all inexpensive, put it up at front of house.

Immediately many cars stopped or did a U turn to read the details. Next week end he added another sign "Please come in free coffee and donuts, No pressure to buy." And more photographs.

Within an hour a prospective buyer stopped and came inside then said "Please wait I will bring my wife", she came quickly and within another 20 minutes buyers parents arrived. They huddled and then offered son full price in cash (several million Baht) with 20,000Baht cash deposit. Son accepted and had downloaded/printed a suitable sale agreement in Thai. Everybody signed.

Within about 3 days chanute was changed to buyers name and full price paid in cash.

The twist: several other sellers of nearby houses came to complain because son had not followed the very small sign on the gate 'protocol'.

Ignored.

You aren’t going to win the race if you don’t get pro active and try something new.

Exactly, and son knew that, he did't hesitate to do it all differently, and he got the reward.

He always tries different ways to do things and always involves his wife and now 4 kids.

My son is the family cook, he puts time and effort into ensuring his family (incl., me) eat well.

For many meals the 3 oldest kids (17, 11, 7) sit at the kitchen table with a cutting board, a suitable knife of veg peeler etc and help the preparation. They set the table; he's taught them to think about what the cooked food will be, put out serving dishes and uitable spoons etc. Eldest daughter (17) is allowed to open the chilled wine bottle just before food comes to the table, she puts out suitable wine glasses and when bottle opened she pours out 1 cm for daddy to try the wine. 17 yo allowed to have about 50ml of wine when wine served with meals.

If we order pizza to be delivered (Dukes in CM) two younger daughters have to prepare the table, plates knife and fork for all, small dishes of extra Oregano and extra mixed chesses. And glasses. And a big bowl of lettuce, cut tomatoes and cut cucumbers.

There's a roster to clear the table, wash up etc.

Well you need a few nails, a 2by4, a hammer and the sign.  :)

I should say I am not Thailand based otherwise I would consider doing it myself.
