Popular Post webfact
Move Forward Party leader Pita Limjaroenrat and its candidate and now MP elect for Rayong, Mr Phongsathorn Sornphetnarin, campaigning this week in the province where it won the by-election with 57% of the vote and with a vote count 40% ahead of that seen on May 14th in the General Election. Local poll shows that support on the ground for the country’s leading party has grown since the May 14th General Election driven by public anger at Pheu Thai’s perceived betrayal of it after it switched allegiance in August to parties associated with the old government. Thailand’s largest party in parliament gained another seat in the House of Representatives on Sunday when it polled at nearly 57% to win a by-election in Rayong outperforming its result in May by nearly 40%. After the result, the party leader Mr Pita Limjaroenrat said it was well placed to win the next General Election in a landslide. On Sunday, the Election Commission in Rayong announced the results of the by-election which took place after the removal of Move Forward’s Nakhonchai Khunnarong after it was revealed that he had previously been convicted of theft charges before the May 14th General Election which is prohibited by Thai electoral law and the constitution. by Carla Boonkong & Pranee O' Connor Full story: https://www.thaiexaminer.com/thai-news-foreigners/2023/09/12/pita-optimistic-after-rayong-by-election-poll-success/ -- Thai Examiner 2023-09-13 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post kwilco
If the constitution is changed then democracy will win. The groundswell for Move Forward is that big now one wonders how the military will react to contain it. Thailands democracy is blighted by both corruption and the laws that are meant to contain it. There are so many laws that it is easy to use them to exclude politicians either from being elected or taking up their seat. This doesn't happen in democracies..it is a tool used by autocratic governments and puppet judiciary. 5 3

Mavideol
my dear Pita, in order for you to win the PM seat you need to face reality and that means the first order of business for the house should be changing/correcting the constitution and get rid of all/any cronies related to the military... if the "old crocs/mafia" allows u to do that u may have a slightly chance, otherwise it will must of the same same but no difference 1

Don't think it's a matter of broken promises, it's whether the military will allow it. They will be signing away their pwoer - but what can they do in the face of "landslide" opposition? - A coup? Not a opular option yet
Popular Post Brickleberry
Nah, they'll just disband the party for some made up reason if they win a landslide. This is Thailand. 2
rwill
Theoretically they could win enough votes to get the PM seat. If that did happen though something would be done to stop it. It would be very difficult to get that many votes though. First you have to overcome the senate votes. And then they have 40 or so parties running to dilute the votes. Adumbration
As I already posted weeks ago. The opposition is the best place for MFP to be right now. PT sold out on their voting mandate and they have lost those people for ever. They will try to bribe a few back with the 10K freebie but they are done for at the next election. The entire focus of the corrupt elite over the coming year will be to try and eradicate MFP and any reincarnations of it. Pita will be the first on the chopping block.
