Apple's new iPhone 15 is an underwhelming 'slap in the face,' say disappointed fans

If those new phones or any iphone is running iOS 16.6 they have a "zero click" vulnerability which is being “actively exploited” to infect iPhones running on iOS 16.6. The spyware in question is known as Pegasus and developed by the NSO Group. Check with Apple to update your iOS quickly!

If you are in politics, or a journalist or a human rights defender, you are a prime target for Pegasus.

What do you base your "recommendation" on...not having one?

Based on Apple’s reputation, and the recommendation of my daughter-in-law, who sells phones at AIS.  If you bothered to read the reviews on the iPhone 15–you’d realize it’s very much the same as the 14.

All new new models have differences from the previous version, however if you compare the Pro 15 to any 14 model there are quite significant differences, just one is Log video at and at 4k 60fps if you want which can be captured directly onto an external drive. If you don’t understand what that means you almost certainly have no need for it but it makes the video compatible with video systems where just one lens is 6 times the price of the iPhone Pro Max.

That you may never use that function doesn’t make it magically disappear or not be available.

It is very likely that your daughter hasn’t been given much, or any, information about Log Video capture as there will be few people who understand it who would ask an AIS rep.

it’s certainly possible that you will opt for a lower grade model as there are significant differences between the 15 and the 15 pro that maybe irrelevant to you

I agree. It is very over rated. Although my desktop is a mac M2 studio, my laptop is a macbook pro M1, and I use an ipad, I gave up the iphone long ago. I consider it inferior on so many levels, to either the Samsung S22ultra, or the S23ultra, which are the best cell phones on the planet, by a long shot. The display, the keyboards options, and many other reasons - the list goes on and on. The iphone has become a fashion accessory, and a status symbol, and not the best phone out there.

I love Apple computers, and would never consider using a windows based system. But, not the iphone. No thanks.

Broken screens taking out the whole laptops has been a feature for as long as laptops have been around.

All my laptops have a HDMI plug so I can easily connect an external monitor if the screen craps out. None are Apple products though.

As good as the latest iPhone Pro cameras are—they still can’t compare to a decent digital camera with a great telephoto zoom lens, when it comes to long distance photography.  Yes, the best camera is the one in your pocket,  Sometimes you need a bit more.

That statement is absolutely correct, it does rather miss the point that a larger sensor with an equal quality lens will always beat the smaller sensor given that the surrounding tech is equal, if that were not true there would be no market for movie cameras that rival a Rolls Royce for relative expense.
The most true point is that the camera (picture taking device) that you have with you is always the best and if your phone isn’t good enough then carry something better.

Congratulations.

Now, onto the article.., does anyone beyond social & tech media drumming up clicks really care ??

The man has a right to share his opinion that Apple is over priced nonge. Me. I just want a phone with 1 week battery life that streams porn at 720 and takes screen shots and records phone calls.
