Should sad emojis be banned?

Featured Replies

Yes!. They are means to troll or effectively enable posting a sad emoji on a post in a way that makes an offensive statement. Emojis are not typically moderated, they are a weak point.

Bring them on!  They keep some posters amused and occupied!

wow. i think thats the first thing ive ever seen you agree with here!!

kudos to you, Lou! keep up the good work.

I would think that super prolific posters, those who average 30-80 posts a day are going to get a few. Just too much content to keep everybody satisfied. Man up, its all anonymous anyway.

Ok,time to stop pussy footing around.

Cancel all emojis or let them show us again who uses them.(own up to them)

Or ,just a like or not like.

Are we going pc  here?I have always called a spade a spade but most of the time i have to behave in the kinds of words i use.

That is out of respect because this is a public forum.

I do not really like to make people look stupid on this platform.

I admit i am not totally innocent of that.

Some posters make my blood boil because i feel they are not truthful or just trolling.

I know that is why some posters are here.

You can almost tell on forehand who will post what emoji.

Specially when it is about an orange person or about gun laws.

Almost a rand?Done.

Sure when it's difficult to interpret the intended message the 'confused' response is valid. But ONLY in that circumstance.

You're setting the rules, now, and only your interpretation is valid?

The anonymity highlights the pointless nature of negative emojis. Only positive emojis should be allowed. If you've got nothing good to say, say nothing. It's a fundamental precept of civil social interaction.

I think we need a snowflake emoji for posts like yours.

Which has been destroyed by the rise of social media and trolls. Sad but true in my opinion.

Perhaps there should be a "Hypocrisy" (and a "Pants On Fire")  emoji?!

I prefer to talk rather than use 5yo emojis. Is that a challenge for you?

But they are monitored!

No, they're not, not by a human. The sole useful function of emojis is allow a popular post to be designated by 3 positive emojis. Emojis which don't count in this function should be deep sixed.

Ozimoron would get 10 each post.

There is a rule about clipping posts. And flaming. You just violated 2 rules in 6 words.

What is confusing me, and also making me sad, are the high numbers of members that really care about the emojis in a forum. Are you minds and self confidence at such low levels, so you really have to care about that? Yet, even more sad to open a specific thread about such trivial things. I guess time is the only thing you guys have. Apparently far too much of it. Get some intelligent hobbies instead.

You replied to it. You must be sad too.

Obviously you care, you're here. It's not about self confidence, it's about civility. You're obviously one of those people who think that people who take offense at your "comments" are snowflakes. It's aggression, plain and simple.

You're such a good netizen?

You abuse people a lot when the don't agree with you.

I didn't "flame" anyone (I posed a question) and quoting parts of posts is not a contravention of the rules.

Quote parts of posts is definitely against the rules and you implied that I was a hypocrite..

Not if the post is 100 words and you quote a key section. Only wrong if you change the context.

I think they should put a score card next to them.

So you know how many you get and what they were, over a year.

The weaker actor is the one who feels the need to offend. Refraining isn't hard. The single reason to willfully offend is hate. Hate is the province of the weak.
