Heavy rain now some 150 km South-West from Surin in KhunHan district (SiSaKet province).

Going darker, and thunder rolling in the distance, just going outside to do a rain dance.......should I carry a glass of wine too......:burp:

Hope you get your share, stopped raining here some 1 hour ago, but we had rain almost daily for 1-2 hours last week (water reservoir almost overflowing).

According to the BBC (International Service), there will be no rain until Monday at the earliest. And who don't trust the BBC?

So out with yer deck-chairs.

Various changes. Changed money into monday. But had to go again to put in a big 'M' into the day. Various other little ammendments.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for intense rainfall, impacting 49 provinces, with 70% of these regions likely to be severely affected. Bangkok is anticipated to bear the full brunt of the storms

Had 30 minutes of mild rainfall this morning.. rather disappointing.

That's strange as it does not get a single mention on their web site. https://tmd.go.th/en/warning-and-events/warning-storm?show=50

The most recent entry on that EN language page of theirs is dated Sept. 6.

Here's a more up-to-date version of their forecasts in EN:

Looks like another sunny day in Surin. We could do with a bit of H2O...

Maybe your part of Surin but here in Surin about 15 klms east of Robinson we are inundated with water, the dams are full as are the rice fields and there is some minor flooding. The farmers are pumpimg water out of their fields. Amazing what a distance or about 70 ks can do, but then you are closer to mountains than us.

it must have been heavy rain in bangkok last night, as our flight from tokyo got diverted from swampy and had to land at don meuang, due to too much rain.  we then sat on the runway for 30 minutes, and took off again and landed in swampy!! added three hours to our journey time

There were a storm with a lot if lightning and short periods of heavy rain that came through early evening but quickly became only moderate to light rain.

Yes, a few km makes all the difference. I can sit on the patio and watch the thunderstorm hit Buri Ram to the West, and we get nothing.
