On September 21, 2023, under the command of top Thai police officers, a joint operation involving various law enforcement agencies successfully apprehended a young Nigerian national named Mr. Solomon Onu.

He was found to be involved in drug trafficking, specifically dealing cocaine, as he aimed to raise money for his wedding plans. The authorities discovered his illicit stash hidden within a box of chocolate meant for his bride, reported Siam Rath.

Authorities had been monitoring Onu for several weeks, as he was suspected of being linked to drug-related activities among tourists in Bangkok.

They eventually traced his location to a 31st-floor apartment in a condominium on Rama 9 Road, Huai Khwang District, Bangkok.

Upon searching the premises, the police uncovered seven packages of cocaine, weighing nearly one kilogram in total, concealed inside a "Lava Chocolate Cookie Box."

Onu confessed that he had been selling the cocaine to foreign tourists, primarily Nigerians, in the Sukhumvit 7, 9, and 11 areas of Bangkok, initially as a means to save money for his wedding.

In addition to Mr. Onu's admission, he faced immigration charges for failing to comply with Thai law's mandatory reporting of his whereabouts.

The operation formed a crucial component of a comprehensive government campaign geared toward bolstering the protection and well-being of visitors in the metropolis, in sync with the Thai administration's drive to rejuvenate the tourism sector.

Government authorities underscored their unwavering dedication to upholding a secure and hospitable atmosphere for tourists, and they called upon the general populace to promptly notify tourist law enforcement or immigration agencies of any dubious occurrences.

Life is a like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.  unless it's a cocaine strawberry truffle of course.

One Kg seems like a lot for this level dealer?

I assume the police will work their way up the distribution chain on this one. /justkidding

The PM is pushing the drug war message quite strongly.

I would expect near daily news on busts.

Not to be sniffed at..........

Maybe instead of Netflix, he should be watching Disney Hotstar's NatGeo documentaries like "How to catch a smuggler", "Banged up abroad", etc., which could have prepared him for his future life better...

If the Immigration and police looked hard enough around the  Nana area probably find lots more Nigerians involved in the drugs trade or marriage scams some  first name  Prince ???? ????
